From Nov 3, X45 towards Newcastle will be re-routed straight down Blackhill bank (rather than along Benfieldside Road) and stop at Shotley Bridge Kings Head rather than Snows Green Road.

X45 towards Consett is unaffected and will continue to serve Benfieldside Road.

Do you have a link for that?, X5 and X15 will operate on a circular route up and down Blackhill bank but no internal comms about the X45.

The info is not on the GNE website (which is odd). However, local timetables, Traveline journey planner and GNE social media have confirmed this is the case.

In that cast, run the X46 up Snows Green, Elm Park, Medomsley, Longclose Bank and rejoin main route at Hamsterley Mill.  Slots back in to the timetable as is.  Then put the V9 back where it was.  Elm Park covered and potential new pax from Medomsley.

in Consett this afternoon to talk about local buses including further improvements to young persons ticket eligibility and planned changes to the M6 to improve reliability and school journey capacity (full details soon). Major bus investment here too

Where on GNE social media has this been confirmed?

I don't think the route of this service is being revised.

Nothing posted on our fb page, nothing on county Durham transport page and nothing in the duty boards posted today either. It would seem rather strange to change things only 1 way as well.

Wonder if the M6 will be split?, also an additional X15 will operate from Lanchester replacing Gem Travel service to Consett Academy (but no return, current X15 timed at 15:15)

This was confirmed via a live chat.

The GNE app has also been updated with the new route when planning a journey.

Have all the Green Arrow Scania's been withdrawn now?

This is the last one.

5488/NK68FAU seems to be delayed for whatever reason. Was missing the whole of last week too.

Its clear the M6 extension to Lanchester hasn't worked and is a mess to say the least.

M6 to Quaking Houses plus split at Stanley, restoring at least an hourly 30 makes sense.

Separately, the 6 is struggling, with timing issues plus reduction to hourly putting pressure on the 16 leading to unreliability in the Annfield Plain  area for both services.

The pre-29th July configuration worked better with reliable connection to X30 and X31 express services to Newcastle.

One per hour extension of expresses to Consett would be better with X31 and not X30, as X31 provides better commuter links to Gateshead.

X32 should start and finish at Consett, restoring Consett, Annfield Plain and Catchgate links to Tean Valley instead of the X30 during morning and evening commuter periods.

When they curtailed the X30/X31 at Stanley a few years back and introduced the 30, it didn't work initially. I would argue later down the line it did, and separating the route into 2 made sense at the time.

However when they decided to ditch that and extend a route back down to Lanchester that goes to the Metrocentre! While the link is a good one, the timings and overall service has been very poor. I'm sure it was done with good intent, but it seems a huge step backwards and I imagine a lot of the issues stem from around the Metrocentre with delays.

I'm not sure what the alternative is other than reintroduce the 30, or potentially introduce a route from Stanley to Durham Via Lanchester, Quaking houses etc  could have it run via Bearpark and the other surrounding villages rather than following the X5/X15 route, using a Solo perhaps?

The M6 link to Lanchester isn't that good if Metrocentre-bound, the journey is split at Stanley for most of the day.

Splitting and restoring at least an hourly 30 is most sensible.

I'm not exactly sure what they're planning on doing to close it off.... the bait room and toilets are towards the earlier letters.

Knowing Durham council, it'll probably be some of those yellow plastic barriers!

Shutters I understand with a key pad to allow access to the toilets
Not sure if this is the right place for this message, however it seems that when services return to "full levels" on the 10th April, the X7 won't be making a return and it'll just be the X6 on it's own. Rather sneaky of GNE not to inform passengers that a service has been cut by 50%.

From Saturday 10 April, almost all Go North East services will be reintroduced to full levels of service in readiness for the reopening of non-essential retail and various leisure aspects from 12 April.

Key word  there being 'almost'!

I wonder if they have any intention of bringing back the 15 minute service between Newcastle and Durham on the X21.
The cove vinyls on the B5s still have the 15 minute frequency so I'm guessing they may do at some point
