Finally got our house on the market, this week and have actually had a viewing.
Now all we need is a decent offer!

Since that post, we've found a buyer and had an offer accepted on a lovely, if scruffy, house right in Durham city

Excellent, good stuff!
My best friend in the whole world has past all his exams.
So pleased for him.

Wait until this time next year when I'm grumbling about what a money pit it is!
Learning that the one of a kind Unipower Tractor unit is on an abnormal load move in Newcastle this weekend for ALE Heavylift.
My UK Railway Datafile has arrived today, which contains every British and Irish mainline and preserved stock

Coming accross the ALE Unipower broken down which meant I could get some daytime photos of the impressive machine, although they were only on my phone as I was heading to work, they still came out great.

Having the opportunity to work on some festivals in the last month. I've been frustrated in my attempts to get volunteer work so I'm pleased that three of my established opportunities went well.

Thanks Citaro
Stagecoach have been doing a competition on twitter as part of their custome service week. If you retweeted their message they gave you a chance to win a tour of Slatyford depot and 28 days travel. I won it
. I've barely achieved much this year so this is amazing
Got me bus pass!
Well not mine as I'm not quite that old but one for littlun+carer.

Sounds incredibly useful. Durham ask for eyewateringly high grades. My nephew is interested, partly for the sport, as he's a county level athlete, but I don't know how confident he is of achieving As and A*
Just pre ordered the 2018 edition of UK Railway Datafile

The Xbox One X that I ordered has been dispatched today, should arrive tomorrow but the only problem is I’m going to visit a friend so hopefully a neighbor will take it in

Nice one!
After trying for 3 hours for Peter Kay tickets, i finally got some!
After 2 and a bit noisy, dirty and unsurprisingly cold weeks, our new roof is complete. Just waiting for the scaffolding to be taken away so we can clean all the muck up, now. We can now also fix all the damp patches caused by the leaky old one and get the bedrooms fixed up so we can finally move upstairs.
We tried not to stare at the scary big bill for too long!

When I bought my house, I got the roof done too.
The surveyor pulled it up in the report, so agreed to go halfies with the person selling.
Win win for both of us.

We knocked most of the cost off the asking price. The whole place has been neglected and we've had to fix everything. Even the oven door was bent and there's a corresponding hole in the kitchen floor tiles that looks like someone had stood on it and tipped it over.
Goodness knows how long the previous owners were without heating but a capacitor had blown in the controller. That could have cost us anything from £50 to £120 to replace, but thankfully husband was glad of the excuse to play with his soldering iron and fixed it for £3!
Upstairs loo had to be disconnected because the saniflow was randomly flushing. That was fixed with a £3 custom cut rubber washer.
It'll be lovely when it's finished, but definitely not the sort of house for people who can't even competently change a lightbulb (we asked them to change the bulbs upstairs, before the survey, to demonstrate that they worked. They pulled the units out of the ceiling in the process, leaving something else to fix)
The roof was so obviously shot that we had a roofer check it out before the surveyor even got there.
I got, not one, but two pictures on Flickr explore at the same time. I'm even less sure about how the system works now... not complaining though
Got the new Samsung S9 this morning, very good so far.
Another 3 pics on flickr explore
