No but im sure it will be a case of them painting over the protection which stops a specific area from been repainted.

Anything apart from Tyres that a coat of paint isn't intended for, i.e. windows or lights, would be masked. It's not really practical to remove or mask tyres prior to painting, and you can usually gun wash it off anyway.
8245 is the next vehicle to enter the paintshop - should go in tomorrow providing they got all of the prep done today. I'd assume it's coming out in red!
Told you the painters were going to be kept busy, Michael! Tongue

Suppose it'll look nice when it's sat in the yard, or indeed at the side of the road Blush

All of the South Tyne batch have had a lot of work done recently and I'd hope that this will improve the performance of the vehicles.

Repainting the vehicles red is a good opportunity for the vehicles to be allocated to a different service too - but I guess we'll have to see what comes of that..!

Not completely red - there is a white 'stripe' across the front.

8245 hasn't even been repainted yet - where you getting this white stripe from?

That's 7079, not 8245? Huh

7079's repaint was originally noted here four days ago. It was confirmed by me that this repaint was being done to the coaches to introduce a new driver training livery, instead of the current mis-match of various coloured coaches.

We've now moved onto 8245, the latest vehicle to arrive at Saltmeadows for repaint. 8245 only arrived at Saltmeadows this afternoon (having previously been at Riverside for maintenance work alongside most of the other vehicles in the "South Tyne" batch). I've suggested that this vehicle will be repainted red (corporate livery) tomorrow, providing all of the prep got done today.

Sorry, I'm not keeping up - I've been out all day . . .

I think the white stripe looks nice - it relieves the overall red of the old 'Northern' livery and is reminiscent of the 'Northumbria' brand.

Haha, completely different topic now! Tongue
So many vehicles get repainted, it's often hard to keep up!

Don't know if its just me as the angle of the photo isn't great but 546 looks to have had its off-side Venture logo removed at the back:

Probably will be left as 'red', as a regularly 5 driver has told me 2 weeks ago that nexus were unhappy about the amount breakdowns, which was leading to a lot of mileage lost due to length of time it takes Riverside to attend. The solution, he had been told, was swop the cadets for the ex pulse b10's, which are much more reliable. The cadets would then be used at riverside on 67/69 and 95/96/64, meaning that when a breakdown occurs, riverside could attend much quicker.
