I think the Trent Barton comparisons are quite strange, because although the names are the same, that is really the only comparison. My auntie and uncle live in Tutbury, which is a small village which "The Villager" V1 goes through and that brand is excellent. However, the links to Red Arrows, Black Cats, Pronto are not that strong. As the brands are not that similar.

It could be argued that Go North East have also stolen the 'Pronto' name from Stagecoach too since they also operate the service using 64 reg E300s (used to be 09 reg MANviros) whereas TrentBarton use 03 reg Solars. I wonder which you would choose...I'd go for the Solars myself.

They still have MAN E300s on the route - what the 5 E300s replaced were 5 MAN E300s that weren't to Pronto specification (leather coach seats). Off topic but fills some gaps in.
Not 100% certain but stagecoach and trent barton share the pronto route, thats why both companies have the same livery. I'd like to see the villager brand used on the 13/14/X25 if they could be interworked.

Isn't Black Cats more linked to Sunderland though?

Yeah. If we were getting really really really REALLY desperate for comparisons between the two, we could get to the fact that they use the same system for the route numbers for the Villager (as you mentioned) and Venture with the V1, V2 etc...

No north east customer will complain to the company that the brand is similar to another company and then request a change. A bus to them is a bus. I personally don't have a problem with it but i do tend to notice it just to generate a bit of discussion i guess.

Fat chance of that happening...

If it was a different colour and had another word along with Angel to make it something like "Angel Xpress" "Angel Swift" or "Flying Angel" perhaps but just "Angel" I can't see that happening, imagine the number of people flagging down an Angel bus on the X21 complaining that it had driven past them because they think it's the 21.

Knew it was only a matter of time before that happened. Just into the corporate livery?
Branding Future

From April 2017 There will be One brand only in Tyne & Wear and services from County Durham / Northumberland servicing Tyne & Wear from a
suggested Choice of 3 brand liveries:

Which do you prefer?

http://www.nexus.org.uk/sites/default/fi...ples_0.pdf

Option C looks the best of the bunch, but I guess if cost is a factor, the simpler Option A, is more likely.

List of services which will be included: (Note the number of GNE branded routes which will come under the Nexus/(NECA ?) branding)

Bit confident aren't they?, the branding was already discussed in the Quilty Contract thread but instead of you going through it here are my favorites........

Option B for the decker's
Option C for the Single
Option C for the Solo's

I like C looks better then the rest
List of routes which will have to adopt the Nexus/ (NECA?) branded liveries - Note the number of GNE branded routes which will dissapear

(Edit to my previous post)
My opinion: A looks too plain, B looks smart, C looks awful and over the top.

Really they should update the list as half of those services have changed like 3 times since November 2012 haha
