Can someone PLEASE give me the answer to the nth term of these:

1) 9, 12, 17, 24, 33, 44
2) -4, -1, 4, 11, 20, 31
3) -3, 3, 13, 27, 45, 67
4) 0, 3, 8, 15, 24, 35

Hated quadratic sequences when it came to the nth term - you're doing A*/A work there I think, and it's stuff I never really properly understood either.

See if this helps you:

EDIT: Scrap the BBC Bitesize link, use this instead:

The answer to Q1 should be n2 + 8.

Yeah our teacher really pushes us to the limits. Last week we were doing Solving Quadratics which was actually quite easy for B work. This one the other hand is very hard.

Cheers - That additional link really helps Smile

I just follow everyone else's movements in Maths - I do like my new Maths teacher like, she's great banter! Tongue

Basically, from where I'm standing, he top one should be 57, number two should be 44, number three ought to be 93, and number four should be 46. Basically mate, you work out the difference between each number, and work out by how much they are increasing, then using that you find out the next one.

So,

1) 57
2) 44
3) 93
4) 46

Hope this helps, Tom Smile

I got n5 + 5 for Q2, using the steps on the YouTube vid.

Back to A-Level Business Studies homework........!

He had to work out the nth term - not the next term! Tongue

The nth term is the rule itself that you use to get, say, the 50th number in that sequence.
So if I was right about n2+8 being the term for Q1, then the 50th term would be 2508. (7*7)+8=57, which ties in with your answer of the next term for that sequence, so I think it's right...

Cheers but as Dan said that's the next term Smile - I hate don't mind my maths teacher. She is the head of maths we get all of the naughty people coming, and she doesn't even tell them off, just haves a joke with them.

Cheers for that answer - I bet she's going to be wondering where my working out is lol.

4) 0, 3, 8, 15, 24, 35

1) 9, 12, 17, 24, 33, 44 = 67 as it goes up in the order of 3/5/7/9/11 adding 2 to Number each time, so it would be 13 making 67, same format of 3/5/7/9/11 is used on Question 2 and 4 also meaning the Answer should be 44 for Q2 and 48 for Q4.

As for Q3 I think ordering it goes up in is 10/14/18/22, basically up in 4's so next would be 26 making the Answer 93.

Hopefully these are all correct Tom.

Shame your girl is going back to America...I love American Girls, been with a couple when I have been to Northern Ireland.

Where is your girl from...Little Rock? Bill Clinton country...My mate once ventured into Arkansas when he was on holiday a few years ago, he pulled up at a petrol station near Little Rock and encountered the most racist people he has ever met, when asking for directions somewhere he was told to avoid a road about a mile away, when asked why got the reply 'no white man goes through d***y town to which the persons friend replied 'yeah man, N******ville is a no go area' lovely [emoji1]

She is from Little Rock. Good guess Tongue

Haha!
I've just tried to make a start on my Showbus photos by attempting to upload the first 30, but Flickr is being an arse and I've spent much of the last half an hour on that screen opposed to captioning photos of buses!

Seeing that picture all the time makes me wish pandas were extinct.
Why did they pick that, it's just stupid.
People who stick their noses in to business which does not concern them...
Haha, just seen all of the maths equations. The term "Quadratics" scares the hell out of me. Somehow I managed to get an A in Maths (both GCSE and iGCSE) but 13 months on from leaving secondary education I have never used them! Nor Pythagoras, nor Trigonometry...

You'll forget how to do them in no time - I did Big Grin
Adverts on Youtube.

Being watching some videos on there tonight, most of which were about 10 minutes long and at the start of the video I got an advert and about 5 minutes in I'm getting another advert - the last one being an advert for KFC that lasted 30 seconds and I couldn't skip this advert!

Idiotic Bus Drivers is what is annoying me This Morning, I was coming up the main road in Lambton heading back home after Purchasing Fifa 15, Looked behind me to see if there were Cars/Buses behind me before Signaling I was going overtake the Parked Cars, so I put my arm out to the right as you do and went toward the Middle of the Road so I could overtake, but the Driver of the M2/M3 Thought it would be a great idea to do an Overtake at the same time, in the Process cutting me off so I couldn't pass the Parked Cars and forcing me to slam on the Brakes and come back over towards the Left Hand side of the Road, otherwise I would crashed into the side of the Bus, also just logged a Complaint with GNE Customer Services about the above, Although I was going to Phone them anyway in regards to 5325 which has a Loose Interior Panel which I spotted when I was on the 2C Yesterday Evening.
There should be excellent CCTV footage of the incident!
Sure someone said on here you can request a copy of it.

You can. Put it in as a subject access request, and they're legally obliged to provide it.

It's also covered by the Data Protection Act (providing said footage is not being used by the police in a criminal investigation) although you might have to pay costs £10 to obtain the film.

It must also be supplied within 40 days of the request.
