Gutted. I'll always remember him between the sticks, from when I first started watching Newcastle. He was a top keeper that kept us in so many games. He played part of Steve Harper's testimonial a couple years ago, and he still looked as fit as can be.

I don't remember him at all, i was to young, as i born in 1991, the first season he went to Newcastle.
Just goes to show you anything can happen even to the healthiest person.

Gutted too.
A genuinely nice fella, who seemed to have time for anyone.
Met him a few times in the mid-90's.
I can always remember his dodgy performances early on in his career, but he seemed to grow from it and become stronger.
I was at the home game against Spurs, when he came on for the last few minutes back in 06/07 I think it was. The whole stadium erupted, shouting 'Pavel is a Geordie' when he came on for Given or Harper (can't remember who was in goal for the previous 87 mins!).
Mrs C is gonna have to put up with me sitting in silence tonight, whilst I read Pav's book!
She hadn't heard of him until recently when I started dropping Christmas present hints and telling her all about him - she isn't from Tyneside and isn't in to football at all!
Even she seems gutted about the news.

Gutted about Pav...Despite growing up a Sunderland Fan, I was a bit of a traitor in that I liked watching Keegans Newcastle...
I may have mentioned When I went to the Chorister School, one of my friends lived near Pav and got him to come along to one of our Sports Days, those of us who were not competing in Sports Day had a little kick about...I decided to go in goal...I made a cracking save and nearly broke my elbow when I landed and it felt like I broke the foot or elbow...As I am soft as shite, I felt my lip starting to quiver and was mentally telling myself 'For the love of fuck David, please dont cry'...
I probably looked like a bell end for my efforts [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

Liverpool were quite bad to, should of been at least 3, missed a couple of sitters.
Newcastle are quite bad like.
We have Aston Villa next... no doubt we'll loose that....

Watched the second half of the SUN-LIV game, half of the Sunderland team look up for a relegation fight, the other half looked like they were out for a stroll on a Sunday afternoon. Unsure what Lens adds to the team, all I saw him do was dive into a challenge, then he seemed to go missing, Watmore looks like a canny player though.

Watmore is a good player, only player what does something when he comes or or plays.
We can't expect him to be scoring every game, hes just a young player... however we need to play more of the U21's....

I think we should play an U21 team vs Arsenal on Saturday, featuring Perez and Anita, they're the only players that give 100% every game, I'd include Mitrovic but he's missed a couple of sitters recently...

Honestly, i couldnt care whos playing for us on Saturday, as long as we win....
As for Newcastle, i hope they get beat , but would like to see both of us win and stop up but currently, i don't see Sunderland stopping up.....

For our sake, I'd like to see a 0-0 draw in your match, and us to sneak a 1-0 against Arsenal. It'll pretty much guarantee that Villa are gone, and it puts a decent gap between us

Happy all around me we won 3-1 (Van Annholt, Defoe (2), with Gil scoring for Aston Villa after Fabio Borini mistake allowed Gil to score next league game is Swansea City (it's technically In Europe as Swansea are from Wales while Sunderland are from england)

He hasn't long arrived in Ostrava, prior to Pav's funeral tomorrow.
Already there are some interesting photos from over there.

I can't, ye we won Aston Villa, who are worse than us but can only see us winning a few more games this season, which won't be enough....
Ye we've stopped up the last few seasons, Wigan did that to and it finally caught up with them... its our turn now, if we do go down, i don't expect us to come straight back up either, the Championship is a hard league now.
We need a few more players, defenders and a striker are ones we need, we need to start replacing the older players in our team, which we haven't.... why not play a few of the U21's, the U21's are doing decent...
Which Kone are we after?
Newcastle are in the same boat.... they need a striker - or they're down, which atm, seems like they'll be in the battling relegation.
