Not even worth 15m... its ridiculous, can tell football is just all about money now!

You can thank The Russians and Arabs for inflated transfer fees
Couple of updates on NE teams:

BREAKING NEWS

Blackburn's Jordan Rhodes traveling to Middlesbrough for talks over proposed transfer.

SUNDERLAND LATEST

Tim Thornton, fresh from his bulky bacon sandwich, has got back to work and has found out some information about Sunderland’s search for a new defender.

“Sunderland made an enquiry over the possibility Mathieu Debuchy coming in on loan, but no movements on that yet.

“One player that won’t be going is Steven Fletcher, who has attracted interest from abroad, the Premier League and Scotland. With the transfer window coming to a close, there is no time to bring in a replacement, so it is likely Fletcher will stay.”
Pep Guardiola will be taking over the reins at Manchester City at the end of the season...

expected to be unveiled in the run up to a pre season tour in China this summer

I heard that rumour earlier. It was dismissed by Allardyce due to the lack of time available to get a replacement in.

Are Sunderland weaker for it?

It will be interesting to see how he lines up in the games ahead.
Honestly thought Fletcher would be Allardyces type of player.

Mint...

Seen England play 4 times in the North East Now...

1999 Belgium 2-1 SoL
2003 Turkey 2-0 SoL
2004 Ukraine 3-0 SJP
2005 Azerbaijan 2-0 SJP

The Turkey game was one of the worst atmospheres I have ever experienced at a Football Match, it was electric, but also very nasty...The murder of 2 Leeds Fans in 2000 in Istanbul was still fresh in peoples minds and I have not seen a Police operation like it at a football match, the ring of steel round Sunderland that night was mad, there was over 5,000 Police Officers kicking about that night. I have never seen racism like it at a football match and I was very ashamed in that I was very involved in some of the racism [CRYING FACE]

Tbh, i'd rather see it play at Newcastle because atm Sunderland haven't got any decent hotels...... will change soon though when the Hilton opens near the stadium AND the one in Joplings - when work starts on it, not sure when that will be.

I think the council have noticed we need hotels and many years later... they have started.

I don't remember much about the Leeds fans, i was 8 or 9.

Leeds Fans killed in Turkey Violence

It was awful, I don't like Leeds myself, but nobody deserves that, I put a Leeds Fan in a big bin outside the SoL not long after that, after the bastard nearly got me pinched by the Police [FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

I think a friendly will most likely be played in Newcastle as the turnaround time for Concerts at the Stadium will be pretty tight at the end of the season
