Agreed
Ah! This is the reason my unread posts were almost at 200!
I was only away for a few hours.
Pity those who have been away for longer!

My school often had threats of scholars services being withdrawn.
Often it was because of seats being burned/set on fire.
The routes must have paid well, as contracts were never ended. Certainly not in my time at school.

It could explain why the Nationals ended up with the vinyl seats covers mind.
RE school buses; I support the idea of councils operating scholars in house with their own vehicles. Specialist school vehicles such as the Iveco Scolabus offer safety advantages such as seatbelts which buses used in general service by private operators do not. There's also cost savings to be had by own operation rather than paying the private sector to provide scholar buses. Besides runs to and from school the yellow buses can (and are in Hartlepool) used for runs to swimming baths and available for hire for school trips at favourable rates.

This system saves buses used by paying passengers from vandalism and could even reduce vandalism as set seats could be allocated to pupils registered to use the bus therefore identifying vandles.
I'm sure it's been mentioned or noted before, but at the MetroCentre bus station there is still branding up for the 43/44 and I think Highwayman services.

It has. Somehow I can't see it being changed anytime soon. X66 stops at the MetroCentre and Gateshead Interchange still have Centrelink plastered over them, that brand was dropped ages ago now!

Everything at the Metro Centre bus station is outdated.

I suppose the Red Kite logo on the stands won't need to be replaced anymore  Big Grin

The fact that most of the signs in the bus station still say 'MetroCentre Bus Station' says it all, surprised that Intu isn't plastered all over the place.

So think about that the next time any of you question my use of 'MetroCentre Bus Station' that's what it comes up with on Traveline as well.

I personally like Daesh, they really hate that name and there punishment for using that name if your caught is flogging or having your tongue cut out 😯 😯
Feeling a bit of a pillock after eventually finding out how I set up the auto-focus on my D7100 to move with the object I'm photographing!

Thing is, it's all good now but I can't count the number of photos I've already taken with it - including Class 700s on test down south!

I was going to take that seat when he got off and I got on in Chester-le-Street but ended up sat at a table with Adrian. Three people who got on together weren't amused as I was still sat there after Adrian got off in Durham. [emoji1]

You've got a thing for labelling people 'tits' haven't you?...

Seen as I was labelled one by you yesterday.

How did you put it before deleting the post after a few people 'liked' my comment..? Oh yes - "if the shoe fits", haha. Big Grin

I'm pretty sure Davie wouldn't have taken the joke seriously - he never usually does.

Because I have a little social anxiety problem, and when people comment things like that it just makes it a bit worse.

I fear speaking my mind in case of being 'shot down'

I'm not arsed what people call/ say about me.

Just say what you want and don't care a less what people think.
I honestly dont care what people think of me, got other things to worry about.

Unfortunately I think the ability not to care what others think of you is not something everyone can do. It's much easier to not speak about a person in a way to cause upset than it is for the subject to change their outlook. I don't think it's possible for many people to decide to not care anymore.

As a casual observer who's probably not spoken to many of you in reality there certainly seems to be a lot of enthusiast politics! People are naturally not all going to enjoy each others company but it's never nessacary to take it to the next level with sly digs veiled as innocent comments.

Anyhoo, that got deep. Back to buses....
