E.g
Classic 400 was on the 39, E400MMC on the 22

Happens a lot in Teesside too, the E200MMC buses end up all over the place rather than 36/37/38.
Temporary reduction of services in the Teesside area from Tuesday 14 December 2021
14 Dec 2021 to 24 Dec 2021
Due to the ongoing national driver shortage, we are making some temporary emergency changes to services on Teesside in a number of areas to try to mitigate this difficulty from Tuesday 14 December 2021. In the last few days this has become acutely worse due to a pronounced increase in sickness which has left us desperately short to cover our current timetables.

The Monday to Friday daytime timetables on these routes will be revised, with each service running to slightly reduced daytime frequencies on our main services 10, 12, 14, 36, 37, 38, 39, 52, 58, 59 and service 61. Times of the first buses of the day will remain close to previous timetables where possible. Services 13/13A/13B, 34, 35 and 64B will continue to remain unchanged, as will all services in Hartlepool (services 1, 3/3A, 6, 7, 20 & 980).

Full details: https://tiscon-maps-stagecoachbus.s3.ama...112021.pdf

Evening and Saturday and Sunday buses will continue to remain unchanged.

We’re sorry to have to make these changes, due to the national driver shortage and we are doing our upmost to restore services back to normal as soon as possible. Please return back to our service updates page regularly for the latest information.

Does anyone know if 39704 and 39716 have been permenantly withdrawn? Just 39704 has been delicensed and 39716 is dumped at the back of Sunderland with an expired MOT. Could that be the reason why the Darts have been transferred here to replace them
Just saw a 12 (22026) going the wrong way along Wallsend High Street to Wallsend Interchange

I like it.
Wonder if there could also be a quicker, express version as an alternative for those boarding or getting off in the town centre.

This will be running with funding - a tender came out earlier this year to support a new route for Teesport.

Andreos might take back his initial compliment knowing that it isn’t a commercial venture from the operator!

Did GNE bid for it....I don't see why they would, they could have operated it out of peterlee.
Can somebody at Stagecoach please use something other than Windows Paint 95. Unless you know the area, those route maps in timetable pdfs (and leaflets) are next to useless

I think I mentioned a good few weeks back that there was a push to get this route set up. Said something along the lines of 'operators complaining that numbers were down, but then not taking up the opportunity to shift hundreds of people to and from work'.

The timetable clearly states its funded too.
Not sure why I would need to take back my initial complement about a bus service operating between a major source of employment and various housing estates where those employees work Huh

Granted it's a shame that the taxpayer is having to prop it up, but it's a start and I'd hope it would lead to much more. Maybe even giving operators the kick up the backside they need.
The penny may drop there's more to serving town centres that are dying on their feet...

I’m intrigued to see how well this will do, quite surprised they’re missing some bits especially round North Ormesby that I thought were worth serving.
Will it still be here in a years time?
I hope it proves successful but I’m not sure it’ll become commercially viable. Let’s hope it’s reliable for a start…

Not fancy it yourself?

We tendered for it… Stagecoach won it though. I just hope their staff shortages don’t hinder any attempt at it being successful. Hopefully it’ll be promoted well - it should attract staff from Asda & Tesco in theory, but the majority of them do of course already have other ways of getting to work. We’ll see - interestingly it will be the only local bus service to run on Christmas Day & Boxing Day in Teesside, next year.

How many times has a Teesport bus been tried, and failed?

People who work there already have their travel plans in place.

Unless business in the port have a heroic turnover of staff, it will be a waste of time, even in 12 months time.

I'm sure TeesFlex will be involved eventually (if this isn't already planned to be TeesFlex vehicle operated of course!)

There must be some commercial opportunities from East Cleveland that could be introduced without stepping on anyone else's toes.
Does Stagecoach have NSAs for the expresses? 12, 22, 39/40 and 62/63 have announcements. What other services have NSAs recorded?

Some of these have been given a limited time frame to run, such as this one running from East Cleveland in 2015 which was "an experiment" lasting just 8 weeks with the intention being staff finding other methods of transport prior to the end of the service.

Whilst looking that up I found a post on someone's Facebook about this new 101 service starting and the departure time being at 07 mins past is seemingly not ideal as will be a rush job for some to catch it and others not finishing until 15 mins past the hour

Only Express route it would have program is more than likely X63 unless there like gne and have every single NSA announcement
