The 317 is a Nexus contract, yes - but Stagecoach take the commercial risk on revenue.
They assumed what the revenue would be as part of their tender submission, and this is how they won the contract (their price to operate it was less than their competitors).
Stagecoach and Nexus would need to come together and agree a financial agreement, if it was deemed that it could lead to a loss of revenue for Stagecoach if they accepted Ferry tickets on the 317.

Ahhh cheers dan. I just assumed all nexus contracts were this is how much we are prepared to do it for and you can have all the fares we collect? I assume GCT don't work like the 317 on their services?
Silly with these changes in Consett.
47A going which people loved and losing a connection to Metro and Newcastle and getting replaced by a much smaller route
X70 going which is another connection to Newcastle
X46 going which is losing another connection to Metro and Newcastle
47 going to take longer by going a longer way round Blackhill.
X45 is going to be packed and take a little longer with it going to Hownsgill after going to the bus station
I see the 25 (CLS - Langley Park) will become the 725, does that mean it will merge with the existing 725 (Langley Park - East Headleyhope).

not operated by GNE either
(07 Jul 2022, 1:57 pm)streetdeckfan wrote [ -> ]Did the changes for the X22 always say "this service will not return at the current time"?
I remember them suggesting it won't come back at all, not just suggesting it's still suspended
In June:
"
Metrocentre Express X22- This service does not have enough passengers travelling to cover the costs of operation, meaning that we could no longer run the section of this route without financial support. We therefore consulted that this service, which is currently suspended to assist with our staff shortage, would not be reinstated.
- Following analysis of our customer consultation responses, we engaged in further discussions with local authorities.
- We will proceed with this proposal. Customers are advised to catch the high-frequency Angel 21 or fast X-lines X21 to Gateshead and connect to our high-frequency Metrocentre Shuttle X66."

Maybe tell people that, then?

The full 725 did that route back in the day. Newcastle all the way through to East Hedleyhope. Might have terminated at Esh Winning at one point too.

Yes it did at least in 2003 anyway.
Since Scarlet Band currently operate the 725 would the new contract go to them. Also is it still half-hourly from CLS?

Maybe… I’m not privy to the details. I’m also not laying blame at anyone here. DCC might have changed their minds, GNE might have got the wrong idea. Whichever way it is DCC & GNE both need to accept some responsibility from passengers who been messed around. In May told the bus is under threat of being withdrawn. In June, told no need to worry the tax payer is saving the day. Then in July, sorry the bus is withdrawn after all. Not great - and doesn’t look good for either party, the council or bus company.

On top of this. People of Leadgate only have 1 Newcastle bus instead of 3.
People will be waiting longer for a Newcastle Bus.
So really with these changes its ''Lets cram everyone onto one bus''

On the plus side, at least L469 YVK now has access to all the timetables and can debate on vehicle allocations and interworking patterns to his heart is content!
Hi Dan,
Can you advise who got the 725 and X15?
(07 Jul 2022, 2:10 pm)Kuyoyo wrote [ -> ]Appears to be another stand shuffle in Eldon Square as part of these changes:
The 12 moves from Stand A to Stand D, alongside the X30/X31/X71/X72 (no X70 - seems the bluff about DCC saving it has gone)
The X1/X1A as a result will move to Stand E from D
The 6 and 10/10A/10B will move to Stand B from Stand C alongside the 47 and X45 - effectively meaning all services to the Metrocentre via Teams will depart from the same stand
The X10 will move back onto Stand A alongside the 684
The 28/28B/29 will be using Stand F alongside the 25 and X21 (and Arriva's X12)
Appears Stand C will not be in use as a result
Add the 56/58 into Eldon Square
It seems that DCC may be fed up with GNE, now that the X15/30/31/X62/725 are no longer with them, are they keeping the 62A which will be renumbered the 208.
I could see Aline running the 725. Hopefully GNE can get some ticket acceptance in place
Or perhaps they were undercut?

Maybe!

I think it terminated at Esh Winning on Monday to Saturday daytimes and continued to East Hedleyhope on evenings and Sundays.
I thought the X70 was going to be saved!

That's how the tender process works - the council won't make decisions based on which operators they like and dislike!
Like looking at the timetable, surely it would've made more sense for the X45/X71/X72 to interwork with the X30/X31 standalone?

Weardale have the 725 according to Councillors Bev Coult & Arnie Simpson. Not too sure what this means for the existing 725 mind?[

Or all of them interwork, with little to no remote reliefs at Stanley, using all the E400s and none of the StreetDecks? Surely that would make more sense.

Correct and the existing 725 will be re-numbered.

So what's the pattern for that going to be if all of the Consett X-Lines services are going to interwork?
From what I can see from timetables....
- X45/X30/X31
- X71/X72 (with long layover at Consett)
(07 Jul 2022, 6:18 pm)L469 YVK wrote [ -> ]So what's the pattern for that going to be if all of the Consett X-Lines services are going to interwork?
It could be
X45-X30-X30-X45
X45-X31-X31-X45
X70-X72-X72-X70
With the 53/54 now only serving the Sage bus stop "in cases of high demand for special events" how will this work in practice? Will it just be a case of GNE advertising this on the website whenever they decide that the service needs to serve that stop?

Looking at that timetable and the 25 on GNE website, spot on for a connection heading to Langley Park.....

Would be even more spot on if there was a bus going all the way through without having to change...

The X71/X72 timetable seems odd, as if it's been kept as it was but just with the X70 journeys removed. You've got a 20:40 split and a 40 minute layover on the X71. Surely the X71 could be retimed to leave Newcastle 10 minutes later and Consett 10 minutes earlier, that way you've only got a 20 minute wait and an even headway?
I get PVR of 5 for the X71/2 and 8 for the X30/31/45 so that would use all but one of the X-lines E400's

But that will still leave Consett with only 1x low height spare covering a PVR of 8x (X30/X31/X45) unless 6336-37 are brought to Consett?
Only plan I can see for the StreetDecks is 6x for the 47 with 2x to Washington for the X1. Or....maybe something like the 58 as people have mentioned as that would still leave 1x left over for the X1.
Or despite movements, maybe GNE don't repaint any XLines vehicles for a while (maybe removing any route specific text) and see how the changes bed in?

I doubt that GNE can afford to repaint all the buses that need repainting, or have the time to repaint them all before the changes come in.
Green StreetDeck on the X21?
