I would have thought that West Auckland to Newcastle via X21 route was over 50km.

Perhaps not now that it is shortened?

Hopefully we'll hear about the final changes, later next week.
Better than ever! Shysters
As a complete contrast to the massive amounts of cuts happening on the 24th July, one of the drivers on the 1 said today that the Q3 is going back to Wallsend from the the 24th July.

Seems quite a strange thing to happen considering it was only cut in March, so unsure if it is true.
Is that a 39B i see

Ye, could be the Houghton runs, replacing the 55?

I thought had moved on from having 4 different variations of service numbers!

Remember the 35/A/B/C and how confusing those were!

This has caught my eye. Wonder if they're effectively bringing back the 152 to replace the 62, by extending the 61 to Peterlee? Wonder how that'll work with the loop round Murton if that's a thing.

39B could be some renumbered 39 via tunstall estate, secured by nexus to replace the 38 in that section, on the 39 vosa listing, I can’t see anywhere on it mentioning Houghton

I have edited my OP for the changes - I will try and edit it, as more changes appear

More have been added

Will the X21 still have a long layover in Newcastle or will that be cut with the shortening to save costs?

Why is the X45 and 16/16A showing their starting points at Hownsgill rather than Consett Bus Station?

Perhaps Nexus are funding it to go back to Wallsend.

Since an "861" is mentioned there, that'll probably be it. Though the 8 prefix may merely indicate that it's a scholars service, which the vast majority of 8xx services are iirc.

Aye, they've used the 6, 7 or 9 prefix for something they think is going to fill a commercial gap on a temporary basis till the furor dies down a bit.

I reckon you're right with the 8xx prefix and it being a scholars service.

Presumably the first and last journeys of the day will run in service to/from Hownsgill, perhaps so they can claim BSOG

A bit like some of Arriva 7's did from Faverdale maybe as a number 19? (still don't know if they do now?)

And will Consett's interworking patterns / PVR's be?:

- X45/X71/X72 - PVR 9

- X30/X31 - PVR 3 (changeover at Stanley + peak extras)

- 47 - PVR 6

Will the evening and or Sunday X30/X72 stay at Consett or will Riverside take these on interworking with the 6 & 12 using StreetLites?

The peaks on an evening are probs done by School drivers

The peaks would either have to be low height deckers or single decks.

I assumed the 861 was a dedicated school service for Seaham High, basically what is currently the 1508 from Sunderland.
Is this set in stone, bit disappointed about the 82, especially between Birtley and Washington
