Unfortuntly I had to ring and complain about one of there drivers on Monday.
Passed me smoking whilst driving and when I done a double take shouted "who the f**k are you looking at".
Not acceptable at all.
Shame my helmet cam never came in time for this

If I were you, I would have complained to Nexus (who in turn forward the complaint to GCT) - then at least Nexus are aware of the issue too.
I'm not sure if Nexus holds some sort of log of complaints (aureolin - have you done a FOI recently? [emoji14] ), but it would be interesting to see how the attitude of drivers impacted on contract performance and if this was detrimental to them being awarded with similar tenders in future (or if it would simply prevent that existing tender being extended for x amount of years).
I'll request it.
For all secured service complaints, they should be made to the local authority responsible. The operator is their contractor, rather than you being their customer.
Yep. If I was using the bus as a passenger I would of. Even though it does say that on the actual bus if you have any complaints about that service please contact GCT. Are they wrong in having that sign up?

At least I know with 13 Presidents a single deck veichle should not be allocated unlike GNE who put 5322 on my school run while a decker was on a non-scholar board.

That's not necessarily true, Dan. Do you know the PVR of Gateshead Central Taxis' double-deck scholars PVR to be able to fairly comment on how many spare double deckers they have (and hence how likely or unlikely it is that any vehicle besides one of double-deck capacity will be allocated)?
The allocation of anything other than a double-decker on your scholars service was fairly uncommon last year under Go North East operation, and you cannot deny that a full-size single decker being allocated as a last resort is worse than a minibus being allocated. In the last academic school year, Gateshead Central Taxis covered a double decker with minibuses very regularly for around three months. GuyParkRoyal took several photographs of these allocations, and several standees are visible in these photographs.

Not regularly but the Vykings and Presidents would conk out about once every 1-2 months.
Mellor demonstrator on 23 today.
I notice on the side it states 'Test Drive Now'. If I ever see this demonstrator on the R3, R4 or R6 - I may attempt to take Mellor up on their very kind offer
I can understand them wanting to demonstrate a vehicle, and I think it's great they are doing so, but I wouldn't be doing it at the risk of a Nexus fine per trip! Pretty sure the fines snowball too, so they'll get one for each of the destination screens not working.

I would imagine that this could maybe be a temporary loan possibly after them taking on the 23. It hasn't been displaying a service number on the front when it's been on the 643 either (see photo)

In the picture linked in Robert's post some of the passengers boarding look a bit confused, don't know if this is down to the lacking of a service number on the front.
When I was on it yesterday, I overheard passengers saying that the "gold bus" was much nicer than this one. There's only 18 seats, 19 if you include a flappy one. The bus was already 3/4 full when I left Washington Galleries.
The driver wasn't professional either, once a passenger rang the bell (on the ceiling, pretty ironic for a bus designed for the more disabled) the bus sped past the bus stop and once the passenger said "I want that stop!", he slammed the brakes on very hardly.
I was texting my mam at the time, about how bad the service was and all the dangerous manoeuvres that he was doing and narrowly missing cars. He even missed out Wrekenton High Street, at Birtley Crematorium, he stopped for a few minutes to have a fag, and we arrived on Birtley High Street, five minutes late!
How would I complain about the service? Would I have to email Nexus or Central Taxis?

I've not had to complain before in Nexus land but I think from previous concerns on this forum Nexus are the people to contact about this sort of thing as it is a Nexus supported service. Can't imagine complaining directly to GCT would get you anywhere.
Not been on a Fiat Bluebird before so I may sample this service or another operated by GCT and no doubt I will regret it.

Nexus - they are the contractors and at least you know something will be done about it as they will then go to the operator.

My Scholars driver made an illeagal manourvre today the driver reversed with near on 70 kids on and I was told it was illeagal to reverse with passangers on.
