Wonder which service they'll work it around?
The 19 seemed to be run without destination displays today. I saw two white enviros with A4 paper destinations in the window.

Impossible to read as they soar past you

It's YX72 ONF running on the 19 with paper destinations (saw it yesterday as well).
So, I don’t know if there’s some sort of link with Arriva at the moment, got the 359 the other week, ticket printed on Arriva paper. Got the 342 the other night, driver in full Arriva uniform, is there just driver shortages?!

Anyone else has similar?

Yes there have been drivers in Arriva uniform driving 342 for quite some time but my impression is they’re ex Arriva drivers who’ve kept the uniform. Haven’t got an Arriva ticket yet though

I understand a former Go North East manager, who became a driver at Arriva Jesmond, has recently started at Gateshead Central Taxis as a manager and recruited a number of ex-Arriva drivers.

I'm surprised GCT are allowing the drivers to wear another bus companies uniform. I'd be surprised if Arriva were happy if they found out as well. Especially considering the amount of complaints there seems to be about GCT from the public (not forum complaints). Arriva already get enough without taking them for other companies.
Least the new arriva drivers may have people skills and know how to identify what a bus stop looks like and a timetable

I would say overall that is postive

In the business industry you headhunt the best or reliable and dependable I would do the same

And @Dan3942 I hope you do the same too when you win contracts and expand. As with any business you need a team you can trust and depend on and depending on the business innovative and wanting the business to grow you want team you can depend on a trust Smile
I see Gateshead Central Taxis drivers wearing GNE jackets etc. Tbh i would hate wearing that stupid yellow polo as well .
I hopped on a 351 today after a swift pint at the Corner House

Pretty packed bus and I’m delighted to report we broke the land speed record getting to Haymarket and operated maninly on two wheels

Pint or pints plural? The latter might be the real reason behind the land speed record journey, Ambassador! [emoji23]

So it wasn't 40mph 30mph 20mph and 5mph  as instructed in that order
I'm not sure I'm keen on the Galaxy Radio party tunes they're playing on the 342 this evening. There is an older guy with a walking stick that looks like he approves more than me though ?

Most of the GCT services have the radio on, even the new E200s seem to have them fitted.
Just like being on the 44b ok travel to hazlerigg back in the day - coach seats, sometimes a monitor but always the radio on - especially funny when metro was advertising " Northumbria bus PAY YOUR BILLS competition".

I think I’d ask the driver to change to 6 Music or 5 Live. That’s acceptable to my ears, if I was on said bus.

Was travelling on a rail replacement bus in the east of Germany once where the driver was playing an album by Rammstein .....

Galaxy?! Was it some sort of back to the future bus that took you back to 1999?

Had a driver playing 'I wanna sex you up' on a Washington minibus back in the day.

Mind, on a Gateshead away trip (think it was West Brom), the driver had some sort of rave megamix on.

This is one of Durham County Council's 'Link2Work' services - they've been running for about a month or two now but as they've been running free of charge, there's been no need to register them until now as fares will apply from July 1st.

Stanley Travel has one from the Stanley area to Consett/Templetown, whilst Hodgsons have some to/from Aycliffe.

This service is strange. It's Sundays & Bank Holidays only which is interesting
Presumably in addition to the existing cathedral bus services, then.
