(05 Feb 2020, 11:13 am)Dan wrote [ -> ]It’s quite a complicated one in that the operators have to reach an agreement with the local authority to accept tickets. Usually the daytime operator has to pay for the privilege, I understand.

For something like this, the evening contracted work supplements the daytime work, so it may be in the daytime operators’ interests to reach this agreement.

Good news is that ticket acceptance has been agreed now for the 11 and 19. Contracts yet to be awarded for the evening 41s.

According to a driver the 11 is replacing the 41 - unsure if its just evenings / Sunday’s but i’m guessing why it’s not been awarded.
Seen a gateshead central driver smoking while driving a 18A in walker this evening.
Gct dont have any complaint details and drivers arent bothered
That's no suprise, although I have seen drivers from both LNER & Stagecoach do it on occasions, although they must think with the window or door being open it's legal...

I would advise reporting this to Nexus via their customer services department.

Where have you seen LNER drivers smoking whilst driving?

Thanks for the swift reply. Are they going to require more buses for it?

I really hope they can sort their maintenance out and employee some actual PSV mechanics. In London this would not be tolerated, there seems to be a sort of lackadaisical approach to bus services in the northeast.

entered service today on what looks like the H1, the destination screen isn’t making much sense judging by the route number stuck inside the windscreen.

It's actually day 3 in operation on H1. As you point out there is an issue with the front destination screen which we are waiting for an engineer visit to correct. Nice driver by the way, I nearly waved at you Wink
Does the H1 still pick up around 10 passengers a week or has it improved

I would say it's closer to 100 these days. People have recognised it as a reliable alternative when the 9 has issues

Followed MMC200 'OCM' up the A1 today. Presume its for GCT.

Seems to have plenty of speed behind it, but looked as though it was feeling the gusts of wind too!

As posted by one of GCT's drivers on 'North East Bus Enthusiasts' Facebook Group, YX20OCN and YX20OCM have arrived.

OCN (there's a long lost link to NE based buses restored) must have been ahead or well behind OCM.
Didn't see it at all.
The same driver had now posted a photo of 8 E200MMCs on various Facebook Groups - sadly the quality means it’s hard to make out the registrations.

Stratas, 2 on 84/84A and 1 on W2.
