I don't think it's that GCT haven't been running them, I think both companies have been running some services together.
So GNE are at fault?

Miscommunication then for both companies, if that's happened?
I thought from the latest timetables (some time in early May), the companies ran what they were supposed to?
Bluebird SF14HAE burnt out in East Rainton earlier, presumably on the 168

Just seen a video someone shared on Facebook, won't see it back in service for definite!
Looks like some GCT drivers haven’t got the memo about the one way system at Metrocentre Bus Station as the 84 went in the no entry nearly colliding with one of Stagecoach’s Enviro 200MMCs as it was coming out (they beeped the horn at them for it)

GCT are gaining the 23 from the 19th July. It is quite shocking to see how much work they have gained, especially at the current climate of things when the current operator does a phenomenal job, just for the standard of service to go downhill.
Well if the opertared it commercially they would operate it!

Maybe the bus operator that’s running the 23 is asking for more money to operate the service [emoji2955], same goes to other secured services

Lets hope they have enough buses

Was when they had it before IIRC, they used a Fiat Ducato when they had one of the two boards for it a few year back (JH Coaches had the other)
I've been informed that it'll be Enviro 200MMC's that get used on service 23 this time round

Interesting. Go North East's 9.25m Solos ground in Springwell when these are allocated to service 23. I wouldn't have thought their small Enviro200s would get round any easier...

JH used to manage with the ALX300, Dart and E200. Blackfell certainly has a parked car issue...

Maybe the drivers aren’t what they used to be...
The 23s predecessor, the old 184 when Go Ahead had it was run with Metrobuses and basically anything Wear Buses had spare. Classic always ran full size buses on it too.
I caused a problem a few times for JH Coaches and GCT when they ran the 23 back when I was an Asda driver delivering around Springwell Village. Not sure why these certain tiny streets get buses down them when there's services on the main road. It's not like every estate in Nexus territory does.

Most likely because these areas have always had a bus which is used.
It is wasn't used, it wouldn't serve.
Imagine if a 'small road = no bus' policy was enforced everywhere? And people wonder why public transport use is down, it should be as easily accessible as possible, and generally that means serving housing estates and not just main roads!

Then send one down my street too. It's more of a trek from my street to the Nook, then it is from Heugh Hill to Peareth Hall Road or to Springwell Village McColls, it's also a much much bigger estate than all of Springwell Village.

Iirc the W4/5/6 etc were removed from Donwell for that reason.
Nexus then stepped up to fill the gap.
85 spotted going gingerly through the top of Blackfell tonight en route to Concord

Convenient how 2 tickets machines on two separate vehicles were ‘broken’ on the 11 tonight.
Surely i should be able to refuse to pay if the money is going straight into the drivers pocket??

if they were mercedes stratas, then their is power supply problem. The machines keep going off, tried wiring directly to battery but no different.
That being said, drivers should be using emergency tickets if machine is off.

Yes, they were both Stratas.
No emergency tickets issued, but I was just thinking the drivers were pocketing the money for no good reason.
Thanks for clearing up.
Blue bird I was on today had no ticket manchine
