Up to five journeys per day each way? Interesting.
There's going to be a bit of a clash if the 24X is re-numbered X24 alongside the existing Durham - Metrocentre X24 service...

Always thought GNE should have had a express service from Peterlee, or even Hartlepool to Durham.
Hartlepool-Blackhall-Peterlee-Shotton Bruce-Sherburn Village-Durham hourly.

Would that be any faster from Hartlepool than the 57A?

I'm not sure to be honest, probably not by much to be fair.
Could the section from Peterlee-Durham be done in 30 mins, or would it be a full limited stop service unlike current routes operating from Hartlepool?

That would be fairly flat out, tbh. We live half way-ish and there's no much could be shaved off either the 22 or 24 route without missing out the busiest stops.
The quickest route between Hartlepool and Durham was service 22 before the service was diverted via peterlee.
The fastest route between peterlee and Durham was service 240 which is now service 24X. As the service omits a big portion of haswell and totally omits Ludworth etc... as it runs direct between sherburn hill and haswell

The changes for service X22 is to add some short journeys within teeside area only.
The 24 changes is to remove the 24X journeys.

So, I wonder what's happening with the current X24 on a Saturday, then. And with the 24s that currently leave Durham at 10:52, 12:52 etc. It's going to be confusing for the people on the 24 route if every 4th bus is missed out. That's the sort of nonsense that makes people give up and find alternative means of transport, if they have it.

I believe these are going to be on top of the existing 24 timetable, offering quicker journey times between Peterlee & Durham

BIB: this is something I'm really sick of now - it's Tee
sside! There's two S in the work not 1. There - that's that off my chest.
As for the X22 change, this will supposed see new short journeys between Middlesbrough and North Tees Hospital (so really short) which will mean that Arriva and Stagecoach will both boast 8 direct buses an hour between Middlesbrough and Stockton - Stagecoach's 'Zone' 36/37/38 vs Arriva's 'MAX' X12/X22/X66/X67.

And that's why I always try to avoid a rant about the incorrect spelling of the area - because, as I have done, I will likely spell something wrong myself.

Stagecoach also have the 13, which at 17 minutes is only 2 minutes behind the zone and 1 minute behind the X12, which would take their offering up to 10 buses an hour

You could also say that this would take Arriva's offerings up to 10 buses an hour between Stockton and Middlesbrough if you include the 17A, even if it does take a fair bit longer than the other services.
Some of the Teesside Changes are now showing on the App:
Sapphire 5/5a
- 5a is cut back to Skelton Hollybush Estate - daytime journeys officially terminate at the Hollybush Hotel with the evening terminating trips running all the way to Rievaulx Road End
- Journeys now operate 7 minutes later during the day - departures from Middlesbrough are now xx12 (5a) xx27 (5 via Skinningrove) xx42 (5a) xx57 (5 via Liverton Mines)
- Peak time journeys remain every 10 minutes
Sapphire X4
- Later journeys from Whitby added at 2007 to Middlesbrough - this also results in an extension of the 1805 from Middlesbrough to Whitby (departure now 1810) with no X4 journeys to Easington weekdays
- Daytime journeys will now leave Middlesbrough at xx05 and xx35, Whitby at xx07 and xx37
Service 17/17a- Short journeys on 17s are re-routed in Ingleby Barwick to serve Beckfields and operating a one-way loop round the Estate - now only serving Lowfields and the Teal Arms on the return to Middlesbrough
According to the drivers, at this stage only two extra peak journeys each way between Stockton and North Tees Hospital have been added from Feb, running as positioning trips to/from Service 15 at Roseworth. The extra bus per hour is expected to come in the summer, along with a MAX upgrade.
The 29A is re-routed to run via The Avenue instead of Palladium Shops & The Vale on its way to Saltersgill I am told.

The app does indeed now show that - the stops on the Avenue and Emerson Avenue are now showing.
EDIT: a further one discovered is the re-routing of evening journeys on the 27 in Middlesbrough Centre to operate via Corporation Road and Marton Road to serve Cineworld after 1850 (Monday to Saturday) or 1750 (Sunday).
The new Horden to Durham X24 timetable is online aswell, even though the main heading at the top states X24 Durham to metrocentre.

It appears they're combining the timetable on Saturdays, although the services clearly don't interwork. Bizarre.

Probably just Arriva's stupid online timetables have put both X24's into the same timetable as they both have the same service number.

Think you'll be right there, the two X24's are clearly not meant to be on the same timetable sheet.
