Not surprised about the 33. I welcome the new X14 Sunday service (only between Morpeth and Newcastle). Fills the gap left by the 2 hourly X15 so giving Morpeth to Newcastle a 1/2 hourly service throughout the day on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

I think it is because the PCL T1 goes to both ends of the estates and comes before the 33.
Ah I thought it was going to Rothbury too, guess it will give a more consistent service though yeah.

(12 Jul 2017, 7:47 pm)Pulsar wrote [ -> ]These changes are caused by the Killingworth Road Closure. here is the link to new timetables on the Arriva website.
The changes to the X7, X8 and 54 (as opposed to the 52) are indeed due to the Killingworth Road Closure and come into effect this Thursday. The
link above shows that the 54 will now operate via Benton Park Road and additionally serve Four Lanes Ends.
The X7 and X8 will run via Benton Park Road also and will now serve West Farm Avenue in place of the 54. The interworking of the X7/8 will also be revised. Currently half of the buses operate X7s from Blyth and X8s to Blyth, while the remainder do the opposite - X8s from Blyth and X7s to Blyth.
The new pattern sees all buses operate an X7 from Blyth and an X7 to Blyth then an X8 from Blyth and an X8 to Blyth, with an extra bus added to the PVR to accommodate the increased journey times. All journeys are increased by 9 minutes. With 4 journeys in a cycle - a total through cycle is extended by 36 minutes. Layover at Blyth is decreasing from 10 minutes to 7 minutes (the same as at Newcastle), with buses having layover in Blyth twice in a cycle this takes off the extra 6 minutes, meaning only 1 extra bus is needed!

Certainly suggests it is likely, although not accepted as of yet. Perhaps due to the short notice end of the Sainsburys contract?

Info about services in Whitby.
From Sunday 20th August, the Sainsbury's free bus in Whitby will be withdrawn. As a result, we're amending Services 94 and 95 to accomodate journeys to and from the store.
From the above date, we're merging Service 94 and 95 together to create one cross town service, operating every 30 minutes between Sleights, Whitby and Eskdale, including the Sainsbury's store. There will be very minor change to the timetable. The bus will operate as Service 95 throughout - so Eskdale passengers please be aware!
This revised provision will offer more frequent services into the store, up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday and hourly Sundays.

Better than Tees Valley. They haven't even got next week's changes up yet!
It looks like the 23:40 X10 on Fridays and Saturdays will be withdrawn due to low usage. Checked traveline and checked with ANE via FB who confirmed that it was the case.
Shame that they couldn't consider making it serve all stops and follow the 43 route between Newcastle and Cramlington potentially gaining extra custom for Wideopen, Seaton Burn and Dudley. Asked Arriva to consider it and they mentioned that the people who travelled on the X10 at 23:40 previously used to use the 43 at 23:05?
How could that be even though the X10 only shares the same route as the 43 between Southfield Green and Cramlington? The X10 misses out a large chunk of the 43 stops throughout Dudley, Seaton Burn and Wideopen. The X10 (bar maybe an evening / Sunday variation until about 7 year ago) has never served Wideopen, Seaton Burn or Dudley. The only route that the X10 shares in common with the 43 is between Southfield Green and Cramlington Manor Walks.
So how comes passengers using the 23:40 X10 could've previously used the 43 at 23:05? It would be almost impossible becuase if someone was travelling from Gosforth Brandling / Regent Centre / Brunton Park, they would wait another 5 minutes for the faster X11 bus unless they wanted on at some of other stops where the X10/X11 don't call.

Totally agree. They'll happily run them packed and sometimes late (going by previous comments on Facebook left by disgrunted passengers ) in the peak times but will happily consider withdrawing a socially beneficial service without at least trying to make it more profitable first. Could even arrange a vehicle swap at Blyth and reduce it to a single decker before doing the outbound X11 and inbound X10 to reduce fuel costs.
