Two replacement buses will be available between Sunderland and South Hylton. They will start at Sunderland at 10:10 and 10:20. These will be the replacement 900 buses. Taxis will continue until after the buses have started running.
Once we have an update from Network Rail I will let you know. Sorry for the delays this has caused, and thank you all for your continued patience and understanding.

Disruption cleared.
Lots off issues on the metro by all accounts.
Evacuation in Newcastle and trains cancelled.

Anyone know who's running the replacement bus service?  Post on the Metro twitter account from Nexus saying trains will be off tomorrow and a 'very limited' replacement bus service - but no indication of what that means!  Possibly just three buses again?

The incident with the train at Monument sounds really scary for passengers.

I think I'll be giving any more rides into the city centre with the boys a miss. Not that we bother that often because of the lack of decent lifts, anyhow.
So far so good... Just left felgate on way to Newcastle from Sunderland...
Seems bizaare that they have been able to source only seven buses across the NE given there should be more spares than usual as its the school holidays.  Have to wonder how hard they have tried to find buses as even Stagecoach would have spares given the reduced PVR on the 1 for the summer, not to mention all of the displaced Enviro400s.

Last night it was all JH Coaches (not GNE as stated above) - presume it was JH again today?

Due to a failed train, we are unable to run trains from South Hylton to Airport. We are currently trying to rectify the issue, however currently we will not be sending trains past Pelaw on the Sunderland line.

Not sure what having to state ethnicity has to do with my preference for seating layout on a train?

I can only guess it is to do with EDIM'S and making sure a good cross-section of the population take part.
There may be other reasons, but that one jumps out to me.

I have just found out there is an event at Whitley Bay Customer First Centre on Tuesday evening. The North Tyneside Transport Forum and Nexus are offering people the chance to get involved in the consultation there.

A series of roadshows outlining the future of the Metro are being held across T&W, over the next month.

Let's hope they don't arrive late...
The Metro Leafbuster Train was powered by two Metrocars today since the Battery Locos were required for shunting in the depot.

Here the leafbuster is seen at Howdon heading back around the coast.

Falling ridership - so increase the fares?  Dodgy

Is it because of the fall in the £ . . .
