Exactly, the scariest thing I've seen on the northern trains recently is a little puppy. The metros get vandalised a lot and needs to be stopped to say the least

The main hub for trouble is the South Shields to Pelaw section which should have more staff on, the barriers at shelds and Chi are rarely staffed which likely results in many taking free rides on the system.
SERVICE SUSPENSION: The service is suspended between Pelaw and Sunderland in both directions. We have ticket acceptance on Go North East bus 9 from Jarrow to Sunderland and 35a from Gateshead to Sunderland. The 56 will accept Metro tickets from Newcastle City Centre to Sunderland

A Northern train's hit a car at the level crossing on Tileshed Lane in Boldon, looks like relatively minor damage for everyone fortunately.

I know it was on the news stating Tileshefs crossing. But that is the next crossing just down the track. The crossing the accident was at is actually Boldon Lane crossing. That is the road the 5/50/50a all cross. Incidentally no bus services operate across Tilesheds.
Whats the deal with trains going slowly across the bridge between Howdon and Hadrian Road, the temporary speed restriction has been in place for well over a year, something wrong with the bridge?
4051 has been vandalised, still in operation today tho
Metro up the creek again been sitting at felling for more than 10 mins while they wait for staff to put speed restriction board up !!!!

Seen 4051 again today, now vandalised down the whole side of the train yet still remains in operation between South Shields and Hebburn
4010 has been vandalised too. Have these units been sleeping overnight in South Tyneside as it could explain this?
Why is the metro off today(2/5/19),also any news on 4040,last i heard was that its in bits
It's been off a while and now in its 4th day. Surely you have been reading the news on why it is off.

I wasn't being arsey as you put it.
I meant that it was plastered all over the newspapers online. On the news itself. Metro is operated by Nexus and updates have been online continuous since the beginning. If your online on this forum do you not read other transport related websites such as nexus.

You would be suprised at some of the information you can find out by checking other websites as well as this one.
Did it by any chance happen on Monday,if so seen a video about it,it was 4014 and 4089 that brought the power cable down near West Monkseaton bound for St James, service suspended Benton-St James
Not sure if it's been noted here, but the new interchange at South Shields is due to open on 4th August.
There's a line closure between Chichester and Shields in the lead-up, from 8th July for 4 weeks.
Platform 2 at Chi will also be reopening ahead of the 8th July.

From official sources. I'll see if I can upload a transcript of a document I've got, at some point tomorrow.

This will cause havoc to all the bus services with heavier than usual traffic on the roads and passenger demand.
Friday's and Saturday's are usually the busiest days of the week in terms of bus use and traffic on the roads (which I assume is why these days have been selected for the strike).
If this does go ahead bus companies would have to allocate double decker's / extra buses to all services that stop near to / compete with the metro.
I'm sure Stagecoach allocated extra buses to the X34 many years ago when there were issues with the metro? Maybe they will have to do the same again to the X24 & X34 if the strike goes ahead.

Think the 27 got deckers and ran in 2s the last time a strike happened
