Doesn't surprise me at all tbh haha
Its the same as the works on Chester Road, where the pipe burst, seem to be taking AGES to fix that.
Any pics of the wheatsheaf??

Aye I seen it a few days ago in Byker and I was very shocked to see it because I didn't notice it tracking either.
One of the electric buses is out and about today, looks like doing the 23 route - as its just passed my house.
Has anymore of Sunderland's Yutongs arrived?
With Stagecoach losing Manchester depots Hyde Road and I believe Ashton to Metroline in January 2025 will we see more buses sent to Newcastle to join 11717-11722?

The majority of them have. There's at least a dozen in total at Stockton for storage, plus the 2 at Sunderland.
I've personally photographed 10 of the 20 so far.
Ex Manchester vehicles will be spread around the UK. Of the double deckers, priority is to replace all remaining Tridents and start replacing any ADL Enviro 400s that have a low Euro Rating. Not sure if that includes open toppers.
Also a number of vehicles (25 ADL Enviro 400MMCs) are going to Stagecoach depots at Perth and Arbroath to replace the Volvo B5LH / ADL Enviro 400MMCs (These -
https://www.flickr.com/photos/gjm-photog...0680567451) which have been sold to TfGM to pass onto Metroline Manchester for use on the Bee Network. I believe there is also talk of more ADL Enviro 400H being sent into Manchester too, so we could see the last of the 12xxx go from the North East.
If Bus Times is correct it appears that 27159 and 27822 have been swapped over

Explains the driver I didn't recognise driving it not in service yesterday.

Any idea as to why? Doesn’t really make sense imo Walkergate shouldn’t have single deckers anyway

I’d ask if Slatyford are getting any but that’d just be a dream we won’t get buses that new unfortunately lol

I've always said this. Only really needed them for the 317, which they no longer have. I know a certain someone who's obsessed with single deckers on the 37/38's for some odd reason and says if he ever worked at Stagecoach he'd refuse to drive a double decker unless it has NSA's and would also refuse any bus that isn't an MX plate. I mean, that is one way to get the sack more-or-less instantly!

Yeah you can’t refuse to drive a bus unless there’s actually something wrong with it they’d be sacked quite quickly lol

Are the MMC’s coming from Manchester in January only to replace the hybrids or are they replacing the single deckers too? I’ve heard they’re wanting rid of the single deckers and to be fully DD working.
(12 Dec 2024, 7:04 am)ReDemPTiion wrote [ -> ]I’d ask if Slatyford are getting any but that’d just be a dream we won’t get buses that new unfortunately lol
to be honest i can see the logic of making walkergate the hub of the north east MMC DD fleet,
although i do agree slatyford needs newer vehicles, i could see any newer vehicles at walkergate replacing the hybrids as they are becoming a micro fleet within the north east, better to cascade them to an an area that has a bigger pool of them to support.
after the hybrids i could potentially see walkergate losing its single decker's of which I've lost track of what is allocated there, is it the 6 ex Manchester 2012 E300s and a handful of ex Stockton E300s? it would make sense to keep the fleet which is CAZ compliant further north and cascade the none compliant vehicles to the south of the river depots like Sunderland and Stockton especially as they have confirmed electrics on order
after that the older E400s, slatyford ideally needs around another ten DD vehicles to flesh out it 62/63 operations, i cant remember what route in Sunderland i was thinking of but potentially some there aswell, hopefully north east some decent vehicles to cascade the older stuff elsewhere,
bit disappointing seeing some divisions getting brand new MMCs to replace ALX400s on student/tourism routes which are seasonal

73071 and 73075 both in the yard just now
Slatyford put out E400MMCs 10646 and 10649 today, all day, on 685. (Plus Carlisle put out E400MMCs 11155/6/7 and the 2*E300s (bought for the route) 27141/2).

Saw one going up A19 today towards Sunderland couldn’t properly see fleet number but looked like either 73063 or 73073. There’s only one left at Stockton depot and that is 73074.

Was there any rail strikes or outages today? Slatyford only seem to put double deckers on when the trains are off.

Surprised they've moved over so early unless the electric section of the depot is almost done and they're getting them ready to enter service in January?
With 10 only needed for the E services, are they still allocating some of the others to local services?, if so which service(s)?
Aren't some of the E12s stored indoors at Stockton depot.

Not sure tbh, there were a few shutter doors open but from what I could see there were only old buses inside but I couldn’t see everything.

Was probably 63 as that had been parked in Stockton's yard with 71, 74 and 75.
The Yutongs will be entering service in January. They've got the concrete down where the chargers are going (finally) so they'll probably be installed start of Jan.

Maybe it was Hexham and other schools finishing early, e.g lunchtime, which would catch a Slatyford westbound working at lunchtime - normally the Carlisle based bus at afternoon schools out time is a full double decker.
Or simply more people out shopping.

Could be, they’ve gone back to having 26291 and 26293 on today surprised by that, I’d have thought double deckers again today with it being a busy weekend
