Also in service today is 73094.
Seems Slatyford aren’t getting Yutongs until next year now. Was originally March but they went to Stockton then pushed back to September but now looking like next year. I wonder if Slatyford could expect some buses from other places when Stockton get there Yutongs in and the 272’s go to Sunderland to replace the gas buses the 64 plate 271’s could go elsewhere in the country to replace some buses to send to Newcastle? Who knows
27157 and 27159 both working out of Shields today, are these permanent transfers to assist with overcrowding of the E200s ready for service changes next weekend. Are there more to come?
73094 is in service but buses time yet?

Think the 3 is possibly being an E300 allocated service. They now have 5 which would seem to support this
Looks like 36965/6 have gone in the opposite direction, on the 23 today.

EDIT: 36967 on 10/11 in Sunderland as well, presumably to switch with 27158?
10638 has returned to service in the last few days and was seen this morning while working a 63 to Middle Callerton.

73093 is on the 1&2 today. If I’m not mistaken that’s the first Yutong to be used on them routes.

Indeed - however, the boards have been amended as of today as the Yutongs won't be able to survive the day on the previous boards due to their length. As of today, the board 73093 is on, it started at the same time as the old 1 board but it now goes on a break when it gets to Easington at 1040 until 1130 when it swaps onto 2s until 1416 at Saltburn when it returns to the depot to recharge.
73095 enter service today.

I feel like the yutongs are going to struggle with the long routes, these and maybe the 36 especially if they’re out early morning until late night. 

Wonder if the drivers will get sick of them too. I know of at least one Stockton driver who is looking to transfer to Hartlepool due to Stockton going fully electric. Potentially even looking at going to Newcastle on loan.

As of today, with the exception of Sundays, Stockton have no running boards that are out from early morning until last thing at night - and indeed haven't since September (just one board - which was 58s until 7pm then the 'Magic Roundabout' cycle of 58/59/61 - was out most of the day but that didn't leave the depot until almost 8am).

The only drivers (2 of them) are extensor enthusiastic about driving diesel vehicles and don’t want to move with technology, ask the other 182 drivers their views on the yutongs and it’s hugely different. Even the very old school angry drivers are massively positive when it comes to them.

As for the mileage the long runs they won’t struggle at all, the only problem they have is the 1/2 on the old running boards where in excess of 430 miles.

Most drivers are finding with the regenerative braking you can quite regularly end up in a similar place range wise when doing a full 36 start to finish.

Fair enough, just thought it might have been too soon to go fully electric, would have thought a gradual change to electric as them 271/2’s for example still have loads of life to them. Yeah, I’ve heard Carlisle! Not sure if it’s all or just some of them!
As Stockton depot is going electric, will their Darlington service 16 become electric?

Yes they will be using the Yutong E12’s
Reliably told 27158 is in the paint shop before transferring to South Shields

As of present, only 6 have entered service - 73089 73090 73091 73092 73093 73094 and 73095. There's only currently 2 portable charging points available for use and the most that can be used with that many is 6. While the work in the depot yard to install the charging points is now almost complete (the last bits of concreate laying remains), they are not yet connected to the grid.

73089-73095 have all entered service. That's 7.
not sure if it’s an easy fix or not but 27510 might well have made its final journey in service. It had to be withdrawn on Catcote Road due to a piece of metal hanging down on the wheel arch on the drivers side. Engineers where on the way to look at it when I got off so hopefully it’s an easy fix and will see another few weeks in service but if not then I can see it been the excuse to permanently withdraw it.

1 for now, but with the 1/2, X40/41 and RP1 extended the depot needs additional buses - all of which need to be electric. A business case has been put forward to try and lure additional electrics including deckers to assist with the overcrowding on service 13/35 at certain times.
