Also known as Stagecoach North Scotland in it's current guise as a subsidiary of Stagecoach.

Ah right but 11774 is from walkergate in Newcastle?

Except that 11774 has never operated with Bluebird. It's been with Busways from new.
It nice see north east getting alot of new buses yutongs and U11dd double decker too for a change instead in over places?
(16 May 2026, 9:10 pm)Busesinnewcastle wrote [ -> ]Anyone know why 11774 is at Slatyford?

It and 11772 are going on loan to Preston to facilitate a service extension somewhere, lunacy when the North East is notoriously short of double deckers.

2 of 6 deckers from across the country going on loan for the latest saga in the Preston Bus Wars pending the release of E400MMCs from Gillmoss once their charging infrastructure is online.

As for shortages of deckers - these are technically freed up by next weekend’s PVR reductions in Newcastle with the end of the BSIP funding for the 1 and 30s. As of next week, Walkergate’s PVR drops by 3 so whatever was due to be displaced by that change will hang on until 11772 and 11774 return.

Likewise Slatyford drops PVR - by 6, meaning less need to replace the 4 Yutongs which went to Rugby in exchange for Stockton retaining 73053-6.

So is 11772 and 11774 staying with Slatyford until they go elsewhere or not?

Ahhh right. So what’s being left in return anything or nothing?

Nothing - they are going on-loan. They will return after a few months in Preston.

From my understanding mate as a driver at Slatyford we should still be getting our allocated 18 Yutongs. We currently have 11 due to 73121 moving over from Sunderland.

Do you know when the rest will be coming over?
May possibly be a chance of 11772 and 11774 still appearing in their normal home city over the next few days - they, along with Sheffield’s 11707 are spending the first week of their loan to Cumbria and Lancashire working out of Carlisle depot before Preston require them.

Whenever the chargers are done.
19386 will never return to Newcastle it is a permanent transfer to Sunderland due to issues with the CAZ
19385 is on a 4 week loan to Walkergate but could become permanent.
10645 was working out of Walkergate today not sure how long that will be for.
It is believed once the remaining Yutongs come back to Slatyford the 61 plate E200’s 36468-36477 will be either withdrawn or sent elsewhere.
24109 is the last remaining MAN E300 at Slatyford but living on borrowed time and will probably be withdrawn very soon.
Why is it's norn of stockton new buses painted in new livery yet?

Because they are still practically new. Older stock will always be priority when it comes to repaints
Thank mate
36092 is in for repaint

I really wish they’d send the 373**s icl.Theyre probably in a worse shape than the actual older counterparts. However oh well thank you for sharing this information. Also in that case will the yutongs go onto other routes other than the 30,31,36 or will they find a way to allocate other buses onto the routes that use the e200s?

You may find a Yutong on other routes eventually but at the moment no they haven’t trained drivers on them other than the ones that do the 30/31/36. Once they do then Yutongs will probably appear on other routes. Once the other 8 or however many come that’ll free up the E200MMC’s that get used on the 30/31/36 to be used on other routes.

I agree the 373**’s aren’t great but I do think they’re better than the 364**’s. The 364**’s are Euro 4 engined with Euro 6 exhausts so they should have left a long time ago. 36470 & 36476 can’t go into the city centre and 36471 won’t be able to as well from 29th May. The 373**’s are Euro 5 I believe with Euro 6 exhausts exactly the same as the 272**’s we had from Stockton but yet we couldn’t keep them. Stagecoach just don’t make sense.

The 272s haven't been modded to euro 6 I think.

Interesting. They do still say no charge on the drive in a clean air zone website. They were lovely buses, some of the nicest buses I’ve ever driven. It’s the 364**’s I’m surprised about that are still here being Euro 4 engine with the upgraded exhaust. Should have gone a long time ago.
Anyone know where 26279 is. Not been out in ages?

It got painted and then sat on the back yard not sure where it is now maybe inside engineering but I haven’t seen it.

10485 went for repaint and now sat on the back yard in bits. 10650 also in bits doubt them 2 will be back for a long time.
27823 is now back at Walkergate. Anyone know what's replaced it at Sunderland?

Probably Euro 5+ then but it seems Stagecoach are playing it safe. They have no HJS lights in the cab which indicates they're unmodded.
27732 and 27733 have just arrived at Slatyford. Unsure if loan/permanent to Slatyford or going somewhere else.
