i dont think people realise what an impact re-numbering a service has

If they do end up on the 22’s they’ll need rescheduling. I used to do them for years before leaving them last year and with the normal E400’s and the E400 hybrids they struggle to keep their time. With the new buses being slower and having to wait for doors to close before leaving stops they’ll need more time.
Speaking of these, is the second batch of 11 still due to turn up since it's the diverted Torquay ones turning up currently.

There's not enough for the 22 is there? At least with some spares anyway. If the whole 25 turn up, I'd say the 12 and 38 personally, neither have had investment since 2010 and would displace the 60 plate Enviro's to wherever. Both routes deserve investment imo.

I would agree, the 22 has had some upgrades through the year plus it would benefit the 12 and 38 since the 60 plates E400s have been showing some age but not a lot, but I would understand why they could think placing it on the 22 would be but the 22 already has a good amount of buses and the 60 plates can be scattered anywhere on the walkergate run services which would hep with the delays.

Also one quick question, why hasn't 10000 been tracking on any bus routes recently

Another one as well why have 22344 and 22347 been withdrawn
Theres the 1 aswell, when did that last see investment, has to be the 194** 58 E400's back in 2008

1,12,22&38 all need newer buses. What I’m surprised they haven’t done is new buses for 62/63 again, take the buses from slatyford 10638-10654 and send them to Walkergate to replace some older ones then slatyford would have a decent amount of new ones and Walkergate wouldn’t have so many 58/60 plates.
These E400Hs are horrendous they sound horribly tired plus there are so many water leakages on the roofs and stair head protection thing.I’m so happy that they are getting withdrawn

24116 has eventually transferred to Stockton this afternoon, has a few beachball panels that need painting and then should enter service.

Thanks for info mate
So is 24116 the last buses from Newcastle depot to Stockton depot then?

The E400H’s aren’t the ones that are going unfortunately

What are then?
(14 Jul 2023, 5:04 pm)BusEnthusiast.com wrote [ -> ]What are then?

Probably the 57- and 58-plate deckers

Oof that’s sad they sound better and healthier than the E400Hs.Well most of them some of the deckers sound hoovery and the occasional 1 or 2 sound terribly bad.I don’t know why they are removing them so early.I see different buses nice and healthy made in 2007/8?

22581 is still at slatyford should eventually be heading your way as well. Not sure if you can expect 22443 as well it’s still sat at slatyford unsure if it’s withdrawn or not

Some of the 58 plates are better than the hybrids but a lot of them are awful things now drivers complaining about them a lot. Hybrids are surely exceeding their life span by now if not soon being more than 12 years old
22581 and 2 man's off the road sill when new ones come sand some old 57,58 E400 down to Stockton depot in instead?

Imagine the bigger problem will be other areas operating things like ALX400's will happily accept the Enviro 400's. No-one will touch the hybrids with a barge pole so the only place they'd be going is a scrap yard.
Looks like the first of the new E400MMC s have arrived 11609 in service as YX23OTN... bus times showing as running a scholars service
The other new Enviro 400MMCs are actually in service, just not in the North East. They are currently over in Merseyside playing golf, well more so operating on the golf shuttles.
36969 has brokedown in front of Joplings
11609 first day in public proper service (after doing school and one X63) today its on the 40

Knickers, i was in Newcastle today aswell, must have missed it
39668 had broke down on Victoria Road this afternoon outside the pubs so we will see what will happen with this hopefully nothing to serious as it probably the better of the remaining Manviros.
I presume all the other new mmc will arrive after the 23rd with them being in liverpool for the park and ride.
Only the ones that have actually being delivered. They are coming in two batches, these being the examples diverted from South West, whilst the ones intended for Newcastle have higher fleetnumbers are probably still in late stages of construction.

So in regards to both above posts..how many new buses is SNE getting? I thought it was only like 8 or 11 - something silly was what I remembered saying to myself as that wouldn't solve any problems or even match any PVRs...
The ones diverted from Stagecoach South West (Devon) are 11607 - 11620.

The ones intended for Stagecoach in Newcastle are 11770 - 11780.

In total there will be 24 new double deckers for Newcastle.
