Just looking at those routes on a map, why does Houchen and his routes have to be so confusing for no reason at all. There's absolutely no benefit of the X41 and X42 doing opposite routes around Wynyard, they're two completely different routes so is just causing confusion for no reason at all.
Also surely the timetables should be done so they're every 30 minutes at the Wynyard side rather than Stockton, since anyone with half a brain cell isn't going to sit on a detour via Billingham for no reason, infact I don't understand why that service goes to Stockton at all from Billingham - it's just duplicating a commercial service...

X40 is limited stop between Stockton High Street and Billingham Town Centre, only stopping at Norton Red Lion, Billingham Stores and Billingham Station between the two.

Aye no disagreement, but is there any need for a Stockton to Billingham express service, which give or take is the 35, which is struggling. Surely anyone with sense from Wynyard wouldn't go via Billingham for the sake of it.
The routing around Wynyard itself is confusing itself and if I've got it right, you can't use the express to Amazon without going on a detour around the whole of Wynyard first.

Certain officers at the TVCA love their circular services, especially with the chance to serve bits that don’t have a service! I have no doubt this was a tweak suggested.
I agree the 30 min frequency wants to be at the Wynyard end ideally but I suspect that wouldn’t be available with the two buses used.

12083 has surprisingly returned to service in Newcastle tonight. The tracking on bustimes is accurate, just been on it on the 37.

When was this?
It seems to have done a run from Stockton up the A19 to the Hartlepool area and back yesterday afternoon at about 2 o'clock, and today it's headed off for service as of 6 o'clock with no apparent issues?
Last night mare that all I know.

Very surprised by that, 12083 was one of the very unreliable ones.

believe it or not glen, nothing has changed in the ten day since you last asked the question, be patient it will happen someday, but remember that the majority of the slatyford ones are older and still havent been done yet, the MMC E400s are slowly getting through and i imagine the single decks will be next

Does anyone know if any more vehicles are due to leave Walkergate?
It seems they have only lost 19678, 36468 and 37317 even though the overall PVR has dropped by 5 with the lost of the 317.

I remember years ago when they had spare buses sitting around in case of buses needing replaced etc, so I’d like to imagine they’re keeping some but 9 times out of 10 now all of their buses are out on the road so I can’t see them giving anymore up.

I seen 3-4 E400H's on 22's this afternoon.
In a notice to drivers, Sc have said Sunderland's electrics are due late Sept/early Oct. Orders for Stockton and Slatyford yet to be placed.

Not bad, wonder if they'll start to install the chargers before they arrive?

They’ll have to otherwise they’ll have no where to charge them. Slatyford needs modernising as I’m not sure where they could put the electric chargers in the depot being quite old.

Wonder if they would build a new depot, if that option ever came up?
(18 Apr 2024, 9:48 pm)Michael wrote [ -> ]Wonder if they would build a new depot, if that option ever came up?
I doubt it, they’ll make it work with the current depot. If they ever think about a new depot they’ll build it big enough to combine the 2 depots and have everything run out of one.
Investing in depot infrastructure ahead of franchising would be an interesting decision to make
(18 Apr 2024, 9:48 pm)Michael wrote [ -> ]Wonder if they would build a new depot, if that option ever came up?
First Solent as an example demolished the existing Depot Buildings in order to create space to house charging facilities for their new electric buses.
I don't see that happening at Slatyford as I'd imagine they'd be installed along the depot walls with buses parked in sideways, other option would be to extend the rear yard area as there is a small field out the back accessible via Slatyford Lane which would provide sufficient space.
I can see Slatyford's charging situation to be similar to that at Riverside, there is enough space for inline charging points.
