Stagecoach still have it. It just needs a new registration

Other things to note is Stagecoach loosing the X86 but gaining a 31 North Tees-Port Clarence via Billingham, X60 T.Park-Stockton-Airport-Darlington, 39 extended to James Cook and a 39A Coulby Newham-Numthorpe-Park End-Middlesbrough.

They will be a reduction in the amount of trips on the 101 at the end of August due to changes to shifts at the Tesco Warehouse.

49 change from the 30th August. Seems Great Park peps are finally taking note of the 49 since the thing started. Who remembers when there were posters round Great Park calling for a meeting cause stagecoach were running the service terrible and they wanted quicker journeys to Newcastle yet were given two buses to Newcastle
Anyway change listed below
All journeys revised to run via Primrose Lane and the full length of Roseden Way. Full journeys to/from Newcastle added during Monday to Friday PM Peak, with a full evening and Sunday service introduced following customer requests

They asked if Stagecoach could terminate the routes on station road rather than the ferry terminal this year.

Couldn't this be yet another change to the service running through the tunnel, linking North and South Tyneside, to add to the long list of changes which has happened in recent years?

My mistake. Just found out it's one of the Great North Run buses.

Interesting the 31 (68 or whatever it was called) is on there. Wonder how long that will last. Funny because last time it was withdrawn for low passenger numbers.

Theyre all 18 month contracts I believe.

Just had a thought about Busways' September changes in Newcastle.
Would it not make sense to have the 10/11 running non-stop between Barras Bridge and Kenton Road?
I've seen several journeys on bus times which have diverted via Great North Road, missing Claremont Road especially in the mornings. Not great losing the Claremont Road stops for the hospital (although Barras Bridge is nearby) but at least it gives some consistency, and gives drivers the option of Central Motorway > Grandstand Road or Great North Road > Grandstand Road

The previous incarnation was a once a day 4 days a week service, it was set up to fail!

So them changes for the 71/72/87 from 30th August I believe the route has changed but they’ve decided to keep the 71 on, on an evening and Sunday instead of the 87. Makes sense the only people the 87 would benefit from are the older people going to the club on a night. Pointless they won’t make money from that.

Route is on bus times now
Barrack Road & Central & Grainger Street & Pilgrim Street is missed out entirely with the route now coming in via A167, Claremont Road, Barras Bridge, St Mary's Place, John Dobson Street, Blackett Street & Percy Street
I find it strange that they propose 2 routes but then just completely dont go for that part

Thing is the new route is good, but they haven’t thought it through very well. Claremont road always gets busy at Christmas and match days. The express routes normally divert Barack Road and 10/11 via great north road so it’s just going to make the 71/72/87 late too!
I believe should they divert them 3 routes away from Claremont Road the diversion will be continue down the A167 to the A1058 Jesmond Road, right onto Osbourne Terrace, Right onto Sandyford Road, St Mary’s Place then left onto John Dobson Street. Should anyone want Barras Bridge they’d have to travel the loop and get off on the way back out.

The other bad thing is that they have made them sit time on John Dobson Street at the same stop the 36 does. Which is already crowded enough. God forbid when christmas comes round

The 10/11 should be non-stop between Kenton Road and Barras Bridge given the number of trips which have missed Claremont Road and diverted via Great North Road & Blue House as you say.
Only real losers would be people using the St Mary Madgalene stop on Claremont Road, which is not covered on journeys towards Chapel House & Lemington.
Yeah there is the argument for the Uni & RVI, but most Arriva passengers manage fine with Barras Bridge & Haymarket.
