So this was hidden well
Nexus have put a consultation out for service 317
https://www.nexus.org.uk/consultation/it...ervice-317
Basically they want it to do the old 11 route round Wallsend instead of finishing in the Bus Station
Buses would wait a few more minutes at the ferry. Yet for some reason no mention of ticket acceptance on it since a certain 19 hardly turns up on time
This consultation closes on the 22nd of July and changes would come into play on the 4th September

There's absolutely no point in it running down to the ferry if they're not going to consider ferry ticket acceptance.
Changes to Sunderland service 99 from Monday 25 July 2022
Working in partnership with Nexus and in order to maintain important links due to other operator’s changes in the area, service 99 will be revised from Sunderland Royal Hospital towards Barnes Park and will be extended to serve Grangetown ASDA on Leechmere Road instead of Plains Farm.
In addition, the route is also revised in Hylton Castle/Castletown operating a clockwise loop via Ringway, Ferryboat Lane, Hylton Castle Shops, Craigavon Road and Hylton Castle Road.
As a result, there are some resultant minor timetable changes.

"in order to maintain important links due to other operator's changes"
Ouch
Mind, it doesn't appear to do all that much in maintaining those (direct) links, only maintaining them for those that live on Leechmere Road itself, unless they're expecting people to get the 12 and change over.

They could switch to the 12 on Essen Way or 13 /33 on Silksworth Lane. If they OAP, it’s free although an inconvenience .
Are Stagecoach going to be making any changes in Newcastle/North Tyneside in October when the funding ends?
The 35, 71 and 87 would probably be at risk. I expect they will keep the 18, 32, 35 etc contracts in March, and of course they will permanently be paid to extend the 62 to serve Throckley as passengers requested a Stagecoach bus service.
Just curious, are the 38A and X77/X78/X79 contracted? Could they ever be operated by another company?

Do we know yet who has the 118 and 135?
Will they ever bring back the x7 that Bus4 used to run for like 2 months from Billingham to teesside park they should reopen it
70 days notice to the local authorities for BRG ending is tomorrow. It will be very interesting what changes are coming.....
More cuts,Stagecoach Newcastle seem to not like intrducing new routes,
According to Bustimes from 4th September
6/7:
17:06 journey on service 6 from the Metrocentre will depart 17:11 and run 5 minutes later throughout.
X63:
Monday-Friday afternoon trips between 4 and 6 pm re-timed by up to 5 minutes earlier between South Gosforth and Killingworth

But some operators might wait until the end of October to make changes
Gone are the days Stagecoach & Arriva would make changes in the first week the school went back in September. Used to be a regular thing for them
Are we likely to see any significant changes in Newcastle when the BRG funding ends? With most of the at risk services now contracted, I'm thinking maybe only the 87 might be at risk.
Due to how many buses run along the West Road: 1/10/11/39/40/684/685/X82 regularly, 84A off-peak and 941/991/X85 at peak times, could we see any reductions in the future to reduce congestion and emissions? Stagecoach run too many services following each other, 10/11 are similar, likewise 39/40.
Has Stagecoach been sold now? Could new owners make some major changes?

As far as I'm aware there shouldn't be any changes in relationship with BRG. North of the Tyne has already been done since the government announced the extension too late and the cuts were already registered. Whether there's any changes in September or March for other reasons who knows but doubt there'll be outright cuts.
Upcoming service changes register on bustimes.org from the 4th September
22 on a Sunday will now terminate at Silverlink Retail Park instead of the Business Park
317 will now no longer serve Wallsend Interchange and will now do a 1 way Loop round Wallsend High Street (same as the Go North East 11 did)
31 service Monday to Friday 9.13 from towards Montagu Estate will now commence from Pilgrim Street 9.19 (journey used to start at Central Station)
10/11 will have some changes to the Monday to Saturday daytime changes

Nothing come through yet. I've noticed on my trawl through BusTimes that Liverpool seem to be having big changes 4th September whereas in Manchester it's 30th October, so I'd assume that the post covid-funding changes for Sunderland will be at the end of October.

Quite surprised by this one, would've thought they'd have at least 1 an hour up to Cobalt given businesses such as EE are open 9 till 5 on Sundays, I know a few former colleagues who are still there that use the service from the likes of Wallsend.
I just hope nothing changes to bad in Hartlepool whenever they decide to do changes here. They have already cut services to the bone.
I think they should improve the 35 service though and the 37/38
Bigger buses on the 35 at peak school times
37/38 should be every 10 mins as well as the 36 every 10 mins but it's alr
Shame Stagecoach Newcastle dont take a leaf out of Teesides book
Why? They're not changing as many services, and the only major change is withdrawing the 22 from Cobalt on sundays. The 317 was already consulted on.
https://www.nexus.org.uk/consultation/it...ervice-317
Also, they're still short on drivers so not much point increasing the service.
