Wonder if last April’s service changes will happen this year in Sunderland
26 Mar 2021, 9:02 pm
Stagecoach Newcastle services 6,7,X87 & X88 will not serve Blakelaw (specifically Blakelaw Rd and Cragston Ave) after 19:30 everyday due to repetitve vandalism of buses and bus stops etc.., this also affects GTC 32A journies. All services to be diverted. This is until further notice, the situation will be reviewed on a 2 week basis and starts today. (26/03/2021)

Don't think they will, they'll want to try and gain passengers back and see how it goes over the next 6 months or so before they decide to do any drastic changes.

By the time the Covid timetables are over, Enhanced Partnerships could well be in place.
06 Apr 2021, 7:58 pm
A section of Lizard Lane South Shields is now closed 24/7 for two weeks due two roadworks. As a result, services E2 and E6 are diverting via the A183 Coast Road until the road reopens.

Not sure, there's nothing on the Stagecoach site.

Unless a new service is replaced it. Maybe a new route that requires a different bus
01 Jul 2021, 10:09 am
Update. It is temporarily due to Covid
01 Jul 2021, 11:37 am
Stagecoach estimates this will be in effect up until the end of the school summer holidays, with stagecoach tickets accepted on GNE services between Metrocentre and Newcastle. Eminently sensible.
If this arrangement works, I wouldn't be at all surprised if temporary turned into permanent.

What a bizarre reason given for the suspension..."increasing driver shielding requirements" when gov.uk confirms "Shielding is currently paused. Although the advice to shield has ended, clinically extremely vulnerable people must continue to follow the rules that are in place for everyone."

The Track & Trace app is currently forcing a large number of bus drivers to self-isolate for a period of 7-10 days. This seems to have rapidly increased over the last week or so.
Arriva (who had the biggest staff shortage out of the three big operators) seemed to suffer with this first, but it’s now starting to have a real impact at Go North East and Stagecoach too.
Very sensible decision from Stagecoach.

Still maintain the sensible decision would have been to prioritise the double jab for those in public service (after the clincally required) then when the new guidelines on reduced isolation with a double vaccination come in, companies can continue to operate a near normal service knowing their front line workforce is safe

The situation is fine for travel from Newcastle to Metrocentre but not for the other direction of travel if GNE don't sell SNE tickets.

There must not be very many people commencing a journey from Metrocentre as most will have either connected from a previous service or may have been work/shopping and obtained a lift. In this instance Amy intending passenger for SNE ticket purchase only I would suggest purchase from the next service 6 or 7 in the station. Yes its not good but it is only temp.

New 19 sounds very much like the old 26 (then 36) in Busways era. Hopefully this is not the intended home for the open toppers...sightseeing tour of the Sunderland North estates anyone?!

No thanks, it just seems like a pointless service, when the open tops can be used on the E services, unless, all the changes aren't on yet.

Wonder which estates?
I would of started it at Hylton castle and not downhill.

If it is a resurrection of the original Busways 26, it ran Seaburn – Southwick – Red House – Downhill – Town End Farm – Hylton Castle – Southwick – Seaburn as one way loop so Downhill may just be referenced as a point at one extremity of the loop.
