Are Stagecoach making up for the lack of service changes in North Sunderland by implementing more on Teesside?
Hopefully just a diversion (although a distinct lack of "route amendment" on the registration), rather than another set of changes...
The 'think-he-knows-it-all' knows what the main aim of this change is.
The interworking of the 12 and 39 hasn't turned out to be the best idea ever. As such, from September, they will no longer interworking during the Monday to Saturday daytime. The 39s will additionally be given more running time more inkeeping with the 20mph speed limit down Overdale Road in Park End that was introduced back in 2012 and yet no more time was added then (to put things into perspective - the 39 running time is exactly the same as the 36/37/38 had back in 2002 when all 3 terminated at Overdale Road End (and the 38 had a variation the 38C))

I wouldn't be getting hopes up of anything 'decent' turning up on there for the first few weeks - I reckon it will be on the front of the early weekday 58 turn (0614 arrival opposite the Castlegate is exactly the time the first 58 is due to depart) so ALX300s for the first couple of weeks.
As for the other changes:
39 gains an extra bus (PVR 5). 6 minutes in the bus station between trips during the 9 minute frequency operation plus 2 minutes at Park End from 8am until the evening times come into effect.
12 appear to be back to the standalone pattern of this time 3 years ago (8 buses). Now there's 3 buses that get a 6 minutes layover at Coulby Newham prior to the afternoon peak starting but only 1 gets the 11 minutes most get at present.

Don't think he'll be bothered what turns up so long as he's got a bus.

Monday 26th October is the School/College Half Term Holiday week. I assume this is when the X34 frequency will be increased to every 20 minutes; as it was usually mid-November when the pre-Christmas Sunday Service was introduced. If the X34 is permanently becoming a 20 minute frequency, I would assume a half-hourly Sunday service will permanently be introduced. I also think they should put more buses on an evening after 19:00 - as I think they run hourly past that time up until 21:30.

Its not even hourly. It is 1820 1915 and 2030 from Newcastle. Heading towards Newcastle is worse that is something like 1600 1630 1830 and nothing else. The evening journeys have improved with passengers numbers and hopefully will maintain. Yes Sunday journeys need to operate all year round as since thus service started it has shown immense growth. Remember originally it commenced with high floor darts 32791-93 and terminated at Haymarket bus station. What luxury we passengers had back then waiting for the bus. Now we endure the open air of pilgrim street but have luxury of sitting upstairs and utilising the free WiFi.
I hope so, i think the service deserves to be every 20 minutes, hopefully a regular Sunday service to.
Question is though... will the remaining E400's be ready in time
(we know how long they've took so far
Temporary closure of Belvedere Road roundabout, affecting Service 23
On Sunday 06 September 2015, Sunderland City Council will need to close Belvedere Road roundabout for resurfacing works
Last Updated: 02 September 2015 2:34 PM
On Sunday 06 September 2015, Sunderland City Council will need to close Belvedere Road roundabout for resurfacing works.
The works will require the closure of the whole roundabout, so there will be no access to the adjoining roads.
During the closure periods, Services 23 will be required to divert along Burn Park Road and Durham Road, rejoining original route. The 23 will also complete this in the opposite direction.
Clearly, whilst we will be attempting to operate Service 23 in accordance with published timetables, there is nonetheless the potential that some trips may be subject to delay.
Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.

The service is going every 20 minutes from the 26th October with earlier services being introduced and an extra return journey to Newcastle in the afternoon. Sunday is still an Xmas thing and will be introduced the usual 6 - 8 weeks before hand.

Cheers for the info, glad to see earlier journey's are being introduced along with an extra one from Newcastle.
Shame they aren't doing a full Sunday service during the year though.. think it would do well.

I'll be honest I was an X34 driver for a lot of years before I got promoted and the Xmas Sunday working doesn't make much money at all, at best it will break even over the 6 - 8 weeks it runs

Just been looking on Traveline at the new times for these.
Appears the 22 will be extended from Wallsend via Rosehill, Battle Hill and Silverlink to Cobalt Business Park all day, with evening services terminating at Silverlink Retail Park.
22X will be a peak time only from Throckley to City via normal route then express to Cobalt (am) and back (pm).
Interesting move by Stagecoach
