Was GNE then GCT now SNE after a few years.

Also effective 12th Dec. Pretty quick that. Have GCT given up? Possibly concentrating more on Durham area services as very little South Shields.
Maybe SC could extend the route or change it slightly to add it to be more attractive.

However it may be getting more use with it being a SC Service now in a Stagecoach heavy area

The extended ticket boundaries represent good value for travelling between Hexham and Newcastle.

At present it is £6.50 for a single between Newcastle and Hexham, so a £5 day ticket seems decent.

Single is only £2 which means return is £4. But with the day rider means excellent connectivity for local services in Newcastle. That said they can’t run the services they have 30/31 regularly cancelled so not sure how they can operate extra routes. Not to mention the state of their fleet.
They are getting 20 odd new buses and sending their old ones away to stockton

It also first appeared on the Arriva Jesmond Depot discussion https://northeastbuses.co.uk/forum/showt...p?tid=3739&page=11

As the 685 will be mainly (60/40) operated by Stagecoach Cumbria & North Lancashire it seems perfectly reasonable that they have produced the timetable.

Stagecoach CNL actually do timetable publicity as well. So I wouldn't be surprised if a leaflet is adorned the vehicles or at Carlisle Bus Station and Eldon Square in due course

North East still produces printed timetables. Not sure why timetables aren't distributed on buses or local facilities though.
temporary route changes for some newcastle routes coming up soon due to road works in the west denton area, routes affected are 6/7/11/62/63 as far as i know

West Denton Way is closed at the end near Westerhope McDonald's for 'road improvements' so basically causing more congestion as there's nothing wrong with the roads there as they are.

https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/sites/defau...l%20J9.pdf - Plans there.

I’m not!

Expansion in North Tyneside (for any Nexus contracts) would be where Stagecoach would be prioritising their driver resource, not the 100 (which presumably doesn’t make much money, and there is an agreed ticket acceptance in place with Go North East).

Expansion!?!

Plugging more like. Expansion sounds too positive like they're exploiting gaps in the market rather than receiving money to operate services by the local transport authority on a contractual basis.

Is that a suggestion that stagecoach have won most of the North Tyneside/Newcastle contracts as expected?

No. Operators don’t yet know the results of the tenders and there is a 10-day cooling off period once that has happened. It will be the end of the month now before anything is confirmed.

Logic would dictate that they would prefer to expand on contracts (guaranteed revenue) than the 100 (must not make that much profit otherwise it wouldn’t have been suspended).

I was wondering if they'd re-instated the 100. They must still see a future for it, as it's on their new route map.

Ah, I had thought they would have been awarded by now - unless there have been some changes as a result of the consultations.
