Teesside Changes from Sunday 27th October 2019
https://www.stagecoachbus.com/service-up...:23:14:406
------
Looks to be the following drop in PVR:
13/13A: PVR drops by 1 from 6 to 5
34: PVR drops by 1 from 5 to 4
36/37/38: PVR unchanged
58: PVR unchanged
Keeping the 52/35 separate from that list as it's a bit harder to work out. The 52 running time is reduced on weekdays, so instead of an hour and 20 minutes for a round trip as they presently get, they'll now get an hour and 11 minutes. The 35, with the revision to operate direct from Norton Road onto Norton High Street at the Red Lion, goes from a round trip of an hour and 5 minutes to a round trip of just 57 minutes. So, until we can be sure, we're either looking at a reduction of 1 on the 52/35 with all boards doing at least 1 trip on the 35 at some stage of the day (as it was pre-August 2017) or the 35 will revert to stand alone with 2 buses and the 52 will operate with 5 buses, still resulting in a reduction of 1.
EDIT: Sorry, further reviewed the timetables - the 36/37/38 will actually see a PVR increase by 1. Seems during the day, the 36 will be stand alone while the 37/38 will interwork in Middlesbrough.
EDIT2: Further review, the 37 and 38 will also be stand alone during the day, each with a PVR of 3.
Just realised the 38 isn't going via Norton Grange evenings and Sundays! How stupid. Just to confuse everyone.
Noticed some 38s already showing via Norton Grange today! And a 13 showing Hemlington.

Not sure it's unexpected though, the 35 didn't have an evening service anyway.
Would have been an improvement though. Would still have served most of the 38 stops.

Same, seems a odd move, but maybe they want to open up new links, or try something new
Only services atm with no changes atm is:
8/10/11/20/X24 and X34.
As long as the does the exact same times as the 23, i don't mind the changes, as i get the 6:14am 23 on a morning, so hoping that one stays.

Perhaps swapping the southern section of the route means the running time on both routes allows a bus to be taken out of the PVR between the two.

And reduce the frequencies, i think it'll also help with reliability.
As long as the Monday to Friday 6:14am and 6:44am journey from Springwell to the City Centre run, as they currently run as the 23.... i don't care about the changes!
I would expect the 4 and 16 to follow in dropping to every 12 minutes.
I think we will see the 18 reduced even more, (dare i mention the GNE X3 service), i just can't see how its still making some sort of profit!

Wonder if the 22 will go from Doxford to seaburn on Sundays. I think they should renumber the 4 as many will end up at Thorney close ?instead of doxy
Wonder if there’s any new fresh routes for Sunderland
The upcoming changes in April should allow the remaining darts (34605/11 and 35188/89) to be withdrawn along with most unreliable and knackered MAN E200s.
Scania OmniLinks 24001-3 could also be withdrawn (due to how unreliable they are and as they are not Euro 6) and some ADL E300s cascaded elsewhere if there are frequency changes planned for the 3, 12, 13 and 16?
just a thought if they are repainting all the vehicles they may need to keep the darts for now

Hopefully, the darts are horrendous.
Only way to get the 3/12/13 frequency down, was if every service was every 30 minutes (15 combined, currently every 10 minutes combined), but don't think that'll happen, i can see the 4 and 16 dropping to every 12 minutes.
Hopefully we will see the Euro 6 gas buses on the X24 to replace the Omnilinks.
Wonder if the X1 changes are linked with the 4 changing its route?, wonder if the X1 will link with the 18 instead, as i expect more runs will be dropped from the route.
Edit: Talking of the Omnilinks.... only 24001 is out today....
Edit:
New PVR's, if routes go every 12 minutes
4: 7 PVR (was 10)
16: 8 PVR (was 10)
22: 7 PVR (was 8 PVR)
Drop in 6 PVR
Of course could drop by more, if the 20 appears on VOSA.
They seriously need to review the Newcastle network

I don't really know the Newcastle network, so can't give some idea's out on how to improve it, but what would you change?

Do they? There’s nothing wrong with it. They were going to withdraw the 32 between Benwell and Kenton Bar, and the 18 between the Freeman Hospital and Forest Hall, but NEXUS have stepped in to provide funding for them to stay in place.

And thats good how exactly? So they axed the 15/15A re routed the 32/32A,but no no,that wasnt enough, they then axed the 18 to Forest Hall and Wallsend, replaced it with the 6 and 7 to Forest Hall, a year later decided that wasnt working then the K3 replaced it,that then got axed (yes it was GNE) then Forest Hall lost the link to the Freeman altogether and also lost the link to the Call Centre (yes believe it or not, some people that work there are from Forest Hall) but a couple of months earlier the 1 was extended to the Cobalt, thats just recent examples, the Newcastle network has been a joke for the last 20 years

Tbf it's not just Stagecoach that serves Forest Hall. The whole North Tyneside network is a mess imo. Places like Monkseaton, Backworth, Briardene, Marsden, Preston Village just to name a few would love the links that you have. The West End of Newcastle probably have the best network in the North East though, mostly frequent bus routes which run late in the evening and some of the cheapest fares.

No, likely the rest of the changes will be on VOSA tomorrow or the coming days, this is where we can access the CSV sheet, which sometimes tells you the changes.
Other than that, they won't be on the Stagecoach site for a couple of weeks yet.
