Checked to see if changes have being posted, they haven't but the 5/5A/18/19 timetable has being from the 31.5.15
Changes 5/5A:
Changes to Services 5 and 5A from Sunday 30 May 2015: To further aid reliability, buses before 0930 are revised, with trips towards the Docks running up to 6 minutes earlier, and trips towards Doxford Park running up to 12 minutes later.
Afternoon buses around 1600 - 1900 are also retimed, with trips running up to 10 minutes later.
To ease difficulties at St.Mary’s roundabout, Service 5A will no longer serve the top bus stop on Fawcett Street. It will instead run via Athenaeum Street and Borough Road, serving the same bus stops as Service 5.
Changes to Services 18 and 19 from Monday 1 June 2015
To help to improve the reliability of your bus service, most afternoon trips are revised to run up to 10 minutes later. This change will enable us to better accommodate the effects of the increasing level of traffic congestion we are encountering on the road network, and which have been affecting the reliability of your bus service.
As part of these changes, the last Service 19 trip from Fawcett Street each afternoon will be revised to depart at 1811. Services 18 and 19 continue to provide regular direct links between many suburbs of Sunderland, providing handy links to a number of places, including the City Centre, the beach, a number of hospitals and also key employment areas.

Newcastle's changes on too now. In summary, route changes for service 18 in Longbenton, PVR increase and longer journey times on Sundays on service 22 and a few timing changes at weekends on 39/40.

I forgot about some of the Newcastle routes changing.
Temporary closure at Commercial Road link road, affecting Services 10 and 11 in Grangetown
The closure is anticipated to be in place between 0600 on Tuesday 26 May 2015 until 0600 on 1 June 2015, and has been specifically chosen to coincide with the school half term holidays, when traffic is generally lighter.

These changes could be related to the new ADL E200s due for South Shields. I wonder which part of the route will be changed on services 12/12A and X34?

Why would new buses warrant service changes? I think i might be missing something.

Westbound closure of Doxford Park Way, affecting Services 5, 5A and 13
During Wednesday 10 June 2015, Sunderland City Council will need to temporarily close part of Doxford Park Way to allow for road resurfacing works.
Last Updated: 29 May 2015 1:05 PM
It is anticipated this westbound road closure, between its two junctions with Hall Farm Road, will be in place during Wednesday 10 June 2015 between approximately 0930 and 1530 only.
During the works period, Services 5, 5A and 13 towards the City Centre will be required to divert via Mill Hill, observing all stops enroute, and will be unable to serve their normal bus stops on Doxford Park Way between the Hall Farm Road roundabouts.
Clearly, whilst we will be endeavouring to operate Services 5, 5A and 13 in accordance with their published timetables, as well as continuing to liaise with our colleagues at Sunderland City Council to mitigate any problems, due to the additional mileage which is required by this diversion there is the potential that bus services in the area may be subject to delays and disruption.
Stagecoach would like to apologise for any inconvenience these highways works by Sunderland City Council may cause, and we remain grateful for customers’ patience and understanding.
Services Affected: 5, 5A, 13

There are "rumours" that, once Stagecoach Oxford receive their ADL E400 MMCs, six of Oxford's Scania E400s could be transferring to South Shields.
See this post for more info:

I think it should be stagecoach on Teesside that needs more E400 decker then south shields needs them to replaces trident and Olympian
Could the X34 be increasing to every 30 mins?!

Not much of an increase then, it already runs every 30 minutes...

I think that bus has enough reliability problems as it is, unless they greatly increased the PVR

You know me in person Cock?! I know a few cocks lol...

But yes Michael's teasing me is cracking me up. I have only used the service twice but it is a very handy commuting service I most say...
Perhaps a frequency increase at peak times?
