Tongue, as you can tell, I've never noticed haha.

8294,8296,8298 and 8299 have been the only Versas used for daily service since I came back off holiday ( Saturday ) while 8295 returned to service 2 days ago ( albeit is in the worst shape of all of them now ) 8294 and 8299 have also had their Cooling Fans permanently turned on since moving to Riverside.

No sign of 8297,8300 or 8301 recently which makes me think there's big problems with them now, 8301 was in really poor condition when I last seen it around 2 and a half weeks ago.

Every day there's atleast 3 Scania L94UBs or on some days a mix of B10s and L94s on, Yes 1 is a allocated board but the other 2 arnt.

That makes me question whether there fit for a branded service, 8295 has been on and off the road for the past 4 weeks now with problems though I understand 1 of them weeks was for PSV.

EDIT : Feel free to move this post to the " Latest News and Discussion " thread if needed.

I noted 8300 on the 82's. It would have been the day before the changes if I remember correctly.

How can so many parts of the city just be cut off. Annoys me.

Yet they won't do it for cycle events that the council organise.
Is the 2/2a going to serve vine place after 22nd may?

From the GNE changes page..

2/2A
  • In Sunderland City Centre, services towards Silksworth will now depart from Borough Road opposite Sunderland Winter Gardens, and will no longer serve Fawcett Street or Athenaeum Street.

  • Following passenger requests, the service towards Washington will additionally serve Sunderland Interchange.
The following changes take place on Go North East services in the Hexham area from 6th June:

On route 680 the journey at 0737 from Bellingham to Hexham at 0737 starts 5 minutes earlier at 0732 and runs via Acomb village.  The bus at 1720 from Hexham to Bellingham runs via Aldi in Hexham at 1725.  Click here for the new timetable.

Buses on route 682 between Hexham (West End), the town centre and Acomb are reduced in frequency, although all parts of the route are still included.  Click here for the new timetable.

On route 688 the last bus at 1827 from Hexham railway station to Allenheads runs 10 minutes later, to improve the connection with a train from Newcastle.  The last bus from Allenheads to Hexham runs 20 minutes later at 1931.  Click here for the new timetable.

On route 689 the bus from Consett to Hexham no longer runs beyond the bus station to Aldi.  Click here for the new timetable.

What about the 74?

Nothing about the 74 on there. Might just be changes because of roadworks etc.

Nice.

Arriva seem to be missing a trick with the 22, here.

Very late response to the above, but could they not brand one of the full length Versas for 88 and have one of the shorts as a spare instead?

You could, but then you'd be covering a PVR of more than 30 buses (Quaylink and Citylink) with two spare Versas, which wouldn't be ideal. The one which would come off the South Tyne wouldn't have Wi-Fi or Next Stop Announcements.

Having three wasn't enough, which is why red Merc 5332 is also deemed as an appropriate alternative allocation for the above services too.

It was with the assumption that 3 of the 4 Versas coming from simplicity would go to riverside so there would be 4 spare for QL, CL & ST. But it does seem it would be a bit of a faff to have full branded allocation

I hope they all don't go to Riverside... Deptford should keep at 1 as a spare for the 2/2A.
