Yeah but we all know that it probably won't look like that. Not with X40 on the side anyway and especially not with the Great Park and Quaylink logos both on the side.

Remember, it will have to swing into and out of Dox Intl the long way round via Silksworth Lane though.
It can't get onto the A690 roundabout, for the quick way in/out.

5mins in, 5mins out - plus any additional time going via Philly and Herrington.
There is the potential for canny delays, even at those times of the day.

I often use it around the times affected to/from Durham. Usually after a long trip on the train or at the start of the day when heading for one.
I pity those stuck in the elements at Dox Park.

Date: 06 May 2015

We have just been provided with short notice details of lane closures and works on Millburngate Bridge in Durham this coming Sunday.

Durham County Council will be carrying out investigation works on Milburngate Bridge and we are told to expect bus delays due to these works.

The work will take place on Sunday 10 and Sunday 17 May between 7am and 7pm.

Lane closures will be in place on the bridge between 4am and 9pm on the two days the work will be carried out.

Two lanes will remain open, allowing traffic to flow in both directions during the works.

We apologise for any inconvenience these works will cause, which are outside of our control.

Saying nowt! Rolleyes
Yes the leaflet shows a picture of the streetlite, and yes it also says that it might not be like that in the outcome.

But it also states on the left hand side of the leaflet that their will be "new buses" for the service in July.

Looks like GNE have won it again, this will be for the Summer timetable.

Interesting to see the 239 at the other end of the clock from Houghton to Avenue Vivian - versus the 4.
As it stands, the 79a is only 15 or so mins behind the 4.

However, the down side to that, is that it runs pretty close to the 4 (due to the 4's layover time), in the opposite direction heading towards Houghton.

Thanks for sharing.

PVR will be 3?

The 38 will probables change to, as the timing for the the 238 is now gonna be **:49 instead of **:40

Shame the 239 won't be going to Sunderland on the Sunday to.

Any idea what GNE will use it?

The changes for the 20 due to the A690 being closed, starting on the 8th - were put online on the 7th.

The powers that be, need to keep an eye on the forum! It had been mentioned on here a while beforehand (several times), had been on the Council website for donkeys and had been displayed for at least a week prior, on the roadside on giant mobile LED displays.

At least they found out in the end.

We've had this 'issue' in the past - not only with Go North East, but with the other operators too. The issue boils down to the local councils etc, who do not inform the operators of road closures and the consequent diversions that will have to be in place. The article you've copied and pasted the link from states: "We have just been informed" - sadly I don't think the crystal ball was working on this occasion, Andreos.

A marathon was recently held in Sunderland, and while Go North East and Stagecoach posted information well in advance, Arriva North East posted nothing. Posters at Park Lane Interchange, published by Nexus, suggested that Nexus had not received any information from Arriva regarding any diversions that they had in place to their 22 service. Perhaps the local council did not inform Arriva of the road closures? We just don't know.
Few more for the Sunderland Airshow today.

Yes, mentioned in the GNE latest thread.
Just been looking at the Service Changes for the 4/82/82A from the 31st May, with Services additionally going to serve Follingsby Park, does this therefore mean that both Services will see a PVR Increase of 1 to therefore assist reliability etc.

Also a thought that I have just had for the Peak Time instead of the above.

921 - Newcastle Eldon Square - Newcastle Clayton Street - Gateshead Interchange - Heworth Metro - Follingsby Park - Washington Galleries - Rainton Bridge Express

Merging with Service 922 and replacing the revised 4/82/82A Workings as of 31st May 2015 and A-Line Service 994 at Follingsby Park.

Revised Timetable using the first Journey of the 921/922 of the Morning from Newcastle/Heworth to Rainton Bridge.

Newcastle Eldon Square    06:57 - Departing 8 Minutes Earlier than it currently does
Newcastle Clayton Street  07:03 - Operating 8 Minutes Earlier
Gateshead Interchange    07:09 - Operating 8 Minutes Earlier
Heworth Metro                07:17 - Picking Up the current 07:20 922 on wards to Rainton Bridge departing 3 Minutes Earlier

The only journey of "Connections 4" service 4 to additionally serve Follingsby Park is the 22:18 journey from Fallowfield Way. As a result, that journey is re-timed to run five minutes later Lingley Lane to Heworth. As such, there is no PVR increase on service 4.

There is no PVR increase to the 82/82A services either, as most of the journeys which serve Follingsby Park interwork with other services:
  •  The 06:40am #82 journey from Heworth will be worked by a "South Tyne" branded Optare Versa, formed by the 06:14am journey from Concord, interworking with service 88.
  • The 11:40am #82 journey from Heworth will be worked by a Volvo B7TL, interworking with scholars opposed to the normal 82/82A services.
  • The 14:10pm #82 journey from Heworth will be worked by a "Red Arrows" branded Volvo B9TL, interworking with services X1/921, scholars and 91.
  • The 18:12pm #82 journey from Follingsby Park will be worked by a Dennis MPD, formed from the daytime 85/86 service, and interworking with the 18:30 #82 from Heworth back to Ayton.
  • The 20:10pm #82 journey from Follingsby Park will be worked by a Mercedes Citaro, running light from the depot, and interworking with the evening #4 service.
The afternoon 14:09, 14:39, 15:09, 15:39, 16:11 and 16:46 #82 journeys from Birtley on service #82 additionally serve Follingsby Park, though these journeys are just normal journeys and so should be allocated DAF SB120/Wright Cadet or VDL SB120/Wright Merit vehicles.
